2) oh yeah, as we ALL know, it's the Obama voters who're buying all them guns.

it doesn't really say they voted for obama. also, they're clearly idiots, ergo probably mccain/palinites.

also, it's been said, but PRIVATE CORPORATIONS SUCK AT RUNNING COMPANIES.

Re: the post office one. Wait, so now Democrats have actual power they have to sort out more than one mess. Yeah, I don't see a joke. I have a morbid fascination with this thread, I don't think I've ever seen one cartoon that, oh, I dunno, made sense.

I don't think I've ever seen one cartoon that, oh, I dunno, made sense.

Given the certain framework, shorthand, and referents/semaphores than political toons work in, I think that they make a lot more sense if you're in that particular(and particularly fucked up) mindset. Of course, with some of these guys, I may be giving a bit too much credit in assuming that someone somewhere aside from the scribbler himself(and it's almost always a dude, natch) can piece together a point or a joke from whatever rightwing mishmashed ranting is illustrated.

I think my fascination with these toons are in their function of a shorthand representation of how these guys actually think. You can much more easily and quickly process a series of op-ed images that TownHall runs, rather than wade thru some of the 800-1200 word rants that they also publish. A toon is much better for hit & run, for me, since reading too much of this shit is horrible.

I mean, fuck, here's a list of the columns that TownHall is currently running:

* Michelle Malkin : The eHarmony Shakedown
* John Hawkins : In Defense of "The Oogedy-Boogedy Branch of the GOP"
* Suzanne Fields : Lessons From the Vampire
* Lorie Byrd : The Only Way for Republicans to Win
* Kathleen Parker : The Word for Freedom
* Michael Gerson : Iraq's Costly Success
* Linda Chavez : Welcome to America
* David Limbaugh : Evangelicals - A Drag on or Essential to the GOP?
* Brent Bozell III : Hollywood's Ridiculous Lawyers
* Mona Charen : Thoughtful Warriors
* Patrick J. Buchanan : Who Killed Detroit?
* Rachel Marsden : Obama Upsets French, Arabs
* Jonah Goldberg : Honestly, Another Abe?
* Burt Prelutsky : Does the GOP Have a Future?
* Mike Gallagher : Hard-working, decent, honest people right?
* David Harsanyi : Who Wants To Live Forever?
* Hugh Hewitt : Rush's Lesson: The Time To Overhaul The GOP 2012 Primary Calendar and Rules Is Now
* Shawn D. Akers : Donkeys, RINOs, and PUMAs, Oh My!
* Dan Kennedy : Politicians, Journalists Have Eyes On The Wrong Ball
* Diana West : Pay Attention to the Somalis
* Donald Lambro : Shultz to Obama: Follow Ronald Reagan's Approach
* Michael Reagan : Quo Vadis, GOP?
* Paul Weyrich : 2010 Congressional Elections, Unpredictable and Varied Performance
* Amanda Carpenter : Pelosi, Reid Stall on Auto Bailout
* Amanda Carpenter : Ways and Means Member Promotes Transparency
* Sandy Rios : More Trouble Outside the White House Than In
* Cliff May : Obama's War

Most Viewed

* Ann Coulter : Genius, Thy Name is Obama
* Mike S. Adams : Lawrence of Eurabia
* Thomas Sowell : It's Priceless

Most Forwarded

* Walter E. Williams : Evil Concealed By Money
* Mike Gallagher : Finally, a Religious Leader with Guts
* Thomas Sowell : It's Priceless

Most Linked

* Brent Bozell III : Hollywood's Ridiculous Lawyers
* Mike Gallagher : Hard-working, decent, honest people right?
* Hugh Hewitt : Rush's Lesson: The Time To Overhaul The GOP 2012 Primary Calendar and Rules Is Now

Like i said, that way lies madness.

I like the idea that George Stephanopolis would have one of those circular news anchor tables as a piece of furniture in his house. Almost has a weird 60s-vision-of-the-future vibe. Or maybe Stephanopolis is quarantined within a special chamber where his rare disease cannot spread but he can still do whatever the hell he does. Is this guy on TV or something?
