yes -- my photo memories 10% comprise photos taken on the vacations of a couple i know. the couple is my ex (and former best friend of many years) and the girl he dumped me for in a very very horrible style

I actually assumed/wondered if thats why the little lefthand panel in yr profile that shows Friends and has pics of 6 random ones, wasnt random but was 6 thatve recently looked. Who knows tho.

It's not random but it's people that have the most mutual friends with you, I believe. Same thing when you're on someone else's profile and their "random six" are usually people you also know or have friends in common with.

Ah, that makes some sense. I just find it odd that for some weeks, the same ppl wil always crop up, then for no reason, someone else will start to constantly appear who never did before.

"Photo memories" has never given me anything but pics of my siblings being goofballs.

Has anyone else noticed that friend requests pending have accept/not now instead of accept/ignore - and you can't get rid of the rejects now, they're just 'hidden'.

Yeah, and apparently hitting "not now" lets pending people look at your stuff until you make The Big Decision about them.

But on mine, it's like I'm not allowed to make that decision at all.

Not now doesn't let them see private stuff, but they will see anything that's public (this can be more than you think)

If you go into the requests page you can delete all hidden requests.

I'm looking at the sidebar now, and it has shows one person with whom I have 57 mutual friends, and another one with whom I have 3. So this doesn't seem to be true.

three or four of the six will be people you have mad friends in common, and then two are randoms. That's almost always the case.

I dont think ive ever made a "public" FB status update. Mine are all locked to "friends only", with a subset filter applied so that certain family memmbers/ppl I dont know are locked out totally and never see anything I say.

Facebook is doing its very best not to make you terribly sad.

You see, it used to constantly show you photos of your ex, which might have reminded you just how great things were before he or she dumped you, but it has stopped that now. Exes no longer show up in the "Photo Memories" box.

Photo Memories appear in the top right corner of some Facebook pages, including the Friends and Photos sections.

They show your friends tagged in photos long-forgotten, but the friends shown are picked using Facebook's algorithm for figuring out whose updates you're most interested in.

i mean, they would know if it's someone you had been romantically connected with on FB, but if the relationship was pre-FB or you weren't "official" on FB - i can't see how that'd work.

Haha, now that would be just fuckin' sick if Facebook keeps tabs on whom you've changed your relationship status with and posting pictures of them on your "Memories" wall.

I read another article that did specify they'd hide people who you previously had set to In A Relationship With on fb so yeah, does nothing for romances over 4-5 years old..

You should be able to retrospectively add relationships in a similar way to how you add previous employers and school/college history.
