Never actually saw The Defiant Ones but did see a million parodies of it back in the day.

roast rage against the hoosteen (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 11 October 2010 01:34 (fifteen years ago)

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Thursday, 14 October 2010 12:35 (fifteen years ago)

I am so amused that The Boogens and Night of the Lepus are both ending up on TCM (on the 22nd, in case you care).

romoing my damn eyes (Nicole), Thursday, 14 October 2010 12:49 (fifteen years ago)

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 16 October 2010 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

goddamn it -- when can we expect a DVD release?

raging hetero lifechill (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 16 October 2010 22:43 (fifteen years ago)

forgot about this! was going to watch the Lovely Bones but I'll save that for later.

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Saturday, 16 October 2010 22:44 (fifteen years ago)

I'm betting this was a lot better than a froze-up webstream of a baseball game. I know I liked it a lot more.

Really interesting film, I'm going to have to let it marinate in my head a while.

Unfrozen Caveman Board-Lawyer (WmC), Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:01 (fifteen years ago)

I have a deeper understanding of The Good German.

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:02 (fifteen years ago)

Alfred, everything should not be on DVD. It's good to have to work for things sometimes.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:07 (fifteen years ago)

A Foreign Affair is a great book, don't think i ever saw the movie.

Brick Frog! (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 17 October 2010 04:56 (fifteen years ago)

Alfred, everything should not be on DVD. It's good to have to work for things sometimes.

Like paying extra money a month for cable?

raging hetero lifechill (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 17 October 2010 12:29 (fifteen years ago)

or move to a city w/ a rep house :)

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 17 October 2010 13:57 (fifteen years ago)

He doesn't think the kids today have earned it, that's all.

btw saw Something Wild and it was pretty great for the most part.

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Sunday, 17 October 2010 14:30 (fifteen years ago)

I was too tired to watch SW (not the Demme film btw) and don't tape anymore, but yes I'd like to see it someday based on the first 10 mins.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 17 October 2010 14:32 (fifteen years ago)

I'm surprised it doesn't have a larger following. NY looks great as well. Also I never paid attention to Caroll Baker in the few things I've seen her in, but she was excellent! Quite a pedigree in the crew for an independent as well.

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Sunday, 17 October 2010 14:39 (fifteen years ago)

mark your calendars. TCM will show the newly restored Metropolis on Dec. 7.

No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Tuesday, 19 October 2010 16:10 (fifteen years ago)

So good.

babytown frolics (Mr. Hal Jam), Thursday, 28 October 2010 17:58 (fifteen years ago)

I saw that film maybe 6-7 years ago. Scarcely remember it.

Ebert was on last night talking w/ Osborne in his robot voice.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 28 October 2010 18:03 (fifteen years ago)

i've sought a legit copy this movie high and low, as i'm a big fan of 10th Victim and Investigation. there isn't even an Italian DVD. figures, like Deep End, that it has been moldering deep within the TCM vaults.

babytown frolics (Mr. Hal Jam), Thursday, 28 October 2010 18:08 (fifteen years ago)

It's been up on torrent sites for about a year.

Kevin John Bozelka, Thursday, 28 October 2010 19:01 (fifteen years ago)

babytown frolics (Mr. Hal Jam), Thursday, 28 October 2010 19:04 (fifteen years ago)

I've got "It" set to record, as I've never seen it.

Gukbe, Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:01 (fifteen years ago)

we could do an extended routine about what "It" is now.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:09 (fifteen years ago)

well you ruined it now.

Gukbe, Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:11 (fifteen years ago)

That is the stench of tyranny (VegemiteGrrrl), Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:24 (fifteen years ago)

I'm really enjoying it!

Gukbe, Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:25 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't know a lot about the silent era, am learning stuff!

That is the stench of tyranny (VegemiteGrrrl), Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:30 (fifteen years ago)

I had forgotten that Edison was such a cutthroat businessman.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 18 November 2010 06:07 (fifteen years ago)

LaMonte, Friday, 26 November 2010 21:47 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

1925 Wizard of Oz in a couple hours -- a weird one, even less faithful to the Baum book than the Garland musical -- followed by The Red Balloon and Bicycle Thieves.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 December 2010 03:05 (fifteen years ago)

Was at a becabled relative's for Xmas, caught a bunch of stuff on TCM that I'd not seen before - 3 Godfathers, original True Grit, The Lion in Winter. Narrowly missed Make Way for Tomorrow, though. :(
