I was in the pub earlier tonight, and Rob Newman was in there looking like an absolute tramp. His hair was long and unkempt, he had a huge beard, and he was slumping across the bar in a very drunken manner. It was a bit depressing, truth be told.

The recent talk about Prince Andrew reminded me of a day about 25 years ago when I was working as a temp in downtown SF and walking through an alley to lunch when a limo pulled up in front of me. One door opened and out stepped Sarah Ferguson. No security or entourage. She walked toward me and gave a big smile and “Hi” as she passed. She looked like a million bucks.

My best: I was in the university cafeteria eight years ago, mid-August after summer sessions, when campus is the most abandoned. There standing by the station for poke bowls were Han Solo and Ally McBeal and their son. Khaki shorts, sun visors, tote bags, just like any other visiting parents, though I assume they'd gotten a private tour. He looked grumpy, of course.
