yes. i was 20 years old. i listened to nothing but joy division, the kitchens of distinction, early human league and OMD (and, heh, momus). i was so far up my arse i could look out of my mouth. the level to which i took myself seriously was in direct inverse proportion to how everybody else saw me.

with these facts in mind, m'lud, posing in a photo booth with a fag seems perfectly understandable behaviour.

when alba invents his time machine, i'm going right back there to punch myself in the bolls. and rip up that fucking shirt.

this is a bad plan. Grimly-Past will break down in mirth at the state of Grimly-Present, especially if the moustache is on, and you'll be so ashamed at being laughed at by someone wearing that SHIRT that you won't have the heart. So then Grimly-Past will suggest some boooze ... and when you refuse he'll punch you in the bolls.

no, not at all. grimly-past will be awesomely gobsmacked that he turned out so grate and topp, and all he will be able to do is stand and gawp. plus: he'll be massively, massively stoned, and won't really have much of a clue what's going on. so i can wham him in the bolls, then get back in alba's time machine, go back to 1987, and sort a couple of things out at a school disco too.

I don't think I would ever make a short film of that. That's just asking for someone to blackmail me! Which I love, but only when reading about it in books written for 13 year old girls where the blackmail involves copying homework or sharing a milkshake with a nerd.
