We’ve heard about a Claymation Christmas episode. Will that be the topper to last season’s paintball episode?

I think just in terms of the whole outlook in the season, the ante has been upped. It’s not just about having huge fantastical episodes, which there are, but in general I think the whole nature of the show and how silly we can get is being pushed more and more. The Apollo 13 episode — where we kind of go to space, so to speak — that’s going to be one of the more ambitious episodes that we’re all sort of hoping will have a similar if not better feel to the paintball episode. And the Halloween episode, which we just finished, is scaled up. It’s definitely a full-on horror-movie episode and really well done.

I think I prefer the less out-there episodes. I was disappointed to read that interview with the creator guy where he said they were going to try to make more paintball and chicken fingers type episodes. Chicken fingers was by far my least favorite episode from season 1. I don't think it's possible to ever, ever get good comedy out of mafia spoofs (esp. Goodfellas) again!

In fact, the fewer genre spoofs of any kind the better

would rather have stunt genre episodes than stunt guest stars/casting

Rob corddry was pretty good! But yeah, not looking forward to all the Betty White we're presumably going to be exposed to this season.

Did her character get fired or something, and all the students got automatic A's?

She was suspended, I think. I don't think there's any guarantee she's coming back, so I don't think she's going to show up in many episodes.

Yeah. She was just stunt casting for the premiere.

Drew Carey's hole in the hand just amazed me, like, where does that even come from. Comedy-wise, I mean. I love this show.

I think John Oliver's character is coming back to fill in as the Anthropology prof.

thought this was a weaker episode but the chloroform gags were hilarious

hey guys I think maybe in next week's episode jeff is going to think that he's too cool for the group and then at the end he's going to realize that even though they aren't cool, they care for each other and that's what's important

I know it's dumb to complain about the plot in a show like this but I'd rather they abandon the concept of plot entirely and just have 26 minutes of unconnected jokes than see them use that story again

1st ep this season was great but this one was just awful imo

Just got the season 1 DVD; the outtakes are as funny as the funniest moments of the episodes...funnier, in some cases.

It wasn't very good, but it was hardly that bad. Troy was good, I liked the Betty White Inception coda, and Oliver's delivery of the 'play along' line was excellent.

agreed, also the little segment of Oliver force pushing Chang away from the food line, then immediately sliding back to his conversation with Jeff was great

Okay Patton Oswalt as the doctor was funny. "These paps aren't going to smear themselves!" There wasn't anything wrong with this ep at all. Or the season so far.

Patton made the same cameo in S1 iirc.

apparently abed had an episode-long plotline involving a pregnant woman that went on in the background of a lot of different scenes -- my dad noticed something was going on mid-episode, but we didn't catch everything.

in the first scene, there's the pregnant woman in the background. In the cafeteria, she goes into labor. Later, she's giving birth in the back of a van.

yes because while everyone obsesses about death life goes on etc etc etc
