Here is what I have learned from Victoria Jackson:
Americans need to be educated about government, politics, and eschatology
Fox News is the only news show that even resembles journalism
If our country needed a black president, I would suggest . . . Alan Keyes
Our country became the greatest nation on earth because of it's reverence to God, and it's capitalism that was set up by our forefathers
Archaeology confirms the fact that the Bible is true
the evening winning lottery number for the Illinois State Lottery on Nov. 5 was the number "666".

she actually asked to borrow it, after flipping through a couple parts (early on, like hal waiting for his dealer) and going "omg, that is how i think."

A dog with one nut.
xp - oh, i just forced the book on people I knew. I suppose that is the crucial difference.
― tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 20:50 (seventeen years ago)
By "nut" I mean "testicle."
I would really like to give Infinite Jest another go. I need to be in the right mood for it, though.

I didn't like Water for Elephants. I was hoping it'd be an entertaining, quick read...but instead I found it kind of a bland, quick read. Definitely, there were some parts that were interesting, but for the most part....thbbbbbbbbtttt.
(it's been a long day of tedious tasks)
― sisut, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 21:02 (seventeen years ago)
Do you want to bring it this weekend? I can't promise I'll get it back to you before the end of the year, though.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 21:03 (seventeen years ago)
The next time I encounter a big fan of that band The Monorchid I am going to laaaugh and laaaugh.

(I like them too)
The one time I went to summer camp (one week when I was 12 and I HAD MY PERIOD WTF) the counselors actually put on an air band concert and I recall 1) many of the campers screamed as if these ding dongs were the Beatles; and 2) I developed a shameful crush on one of the counselors directly as a result of his air band performance.

The plot has thickened, guys...
That job that I applied for and didn't get (was actually runner-up for)? ... *Another* person in that group just quit, they do the same job, so it looks like there will be another opening! OMGLOLBBQ2K8

I can't remember what song they air banded to, but if I had to lay odds, I would guess it was either by Journey or Lover Boy.
YAY Dan!

― La Lechera, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 22:01 (seventeen years ago)
Oh ha, I just asked you about that on FACEBOOK. Note: JFK Day is my actual birthday. Anecdote (probably a repeat but I am getting lolold so just get used to it): My father had a book about the assassination of JFK called "NOVEMBER 22" and when I was a wee thing he used to tell me that it was about me.
Anyway maybe we could like... sit together at the play or something????

― La Lechera, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 22:03 (seventeen years ago)
ps the seats at the play are so few that no matter where you sit, you will be sitting together.
hmmmm... Amanda, I don't know but I can ask some WRC people. Or Jesse when he returns from "doing a delivery."
― tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 22:06 (seventeen years ago)
I did not ask if "doing a delivery" is a euphemism.
For pooping.

2. Jenny's link failed, but I just tried to go to http://www.victoriajackson.com/ and the site is down. NO - Update! It's working.
3. "Delivery" meant pretty much delivery. You know what? The cab I took didn't charge me the $1 gas surcharge. Are they not doing that anymore?

Jenny emailed me this re V. Jackson:
Her argument against socialism is to reprint the dictionary definition of socialism and bold the fourth definition, then reprint the definition of capitalism and high light "competition in a free market." SEE IT IS SELF EXPLANATORY!!!!!!!!!!
LOL/AAACK!
My favorite (so far)Because my agent received hateful and threatening phone calls after I expressed my politcal views publicly.... I took her phone number off of my web site. I asked someone why people would be angry with my words. Don't we have freedom of speech? (emphasis hers) They replied that the "...has some traits that resemble the Antichrist" comment was the phrase most offensive to some people.
What is it that she thinks "freedom of speech" means???
Oh, and 4. Chris "Causistry" from ILX has been with 3 monorchids.

fine. there have been better, there have been worse. glad a bunch of people showed up for the l@ureates, they are a fun band and nice guys. second band was annoying overthought emo-pop, which i'm worried is becoming a trend.

to be fair, they describe themselves as "prog-pop"
I am listening to their MySpace.

one of the dudes was in tr0ubled hubbl3, which is interesting because the other band we've played with recently that also has this sound is k1d, y0u'll m0ve m0untains, which ALSO has a former member of ... tr0ubled hubbl3. so maybe it's all the fault of this one band.
