there should be a rolling 'new shows 2010-2011 season' thread, and the ones that make the cut/garner interest can get their own threads down the line.

So far, the only "new" new show I've seen is The Event, and it was alright. Same people who made 24 are making it, though, and you can definitely tell by all the hammy dialogue. As for the larger mystery, I'll ride that ride until I have to get off.

If this is Season 5 of TGS (wink, wink), it doesn't make sense. Wasn't TGS already an established thing that they crammed Tracy Jordan into at the beginning of 30 Rock?
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 24 September 2010 13:50 (fifteen years ago)
Maybe it's the fifth season of "TGS" since before it was "The Girly Show"
― congratulations (n/a), Friday, 24 September 2010 13:50 (fifteen years ago)
Just an OK first ep, but Jack's "flirting" with the interior designer was gayriffic.
― Hipstamatic Priest (King Boy Pato), Friday, 24 September 2010 13:58 (fifteen years ago)

how did kenneth get fired again?
― a hoy hoy, Saturday, 25 September 2010 19:34 (fifteen years ago)
He got promoted which meant he'd have to move to LA, and he didn't want to move to LA, so he deliberately did a bad job on a studio tour with the Kabletown execs.
― franny glass, Saturday, 25 September 2010 19:47 (fifteen years ago)
oh yeah, forgot about that. cheers!

Self referential season five intro joke not as good as the self referential season four intro joke.
― James Mitchell, Monday, 27 September 2010 09:46 (fifteen years ago)
^^^agreed and it led onto one of my favourite bits, Tracy doing stand-up about eating lobster and asking "Have I lost touch with my roots? I better talk to Rabbi Schmuley about this..."
― Duncan Donuts (Ned Trifle II), Monday, 27 September 2010 12:12 (fifteen years ago)
i don't know about anybody else but i'm loving matt damon in this. missed elizabeth banks tbh.
― tangelo amour (elmo argonaut), Monday, 27 September 2010 12:46 (fifteen years ago)
Matt Damon is good when he does comedy -- I'm probably in the minority here but I liked Stuck On You. I watched Ponyo last night with my daughter -- Matt and Tina do the voices of the father and mother in the movie, I thought that was kind of a funny coincidence.
― (¬_¬) (Nicole), Monday, 27 September 2010 13:32 (fifteen years ago)
so, i know it's old, but Kenneth's Michael McDonald impression in the first season's "Cleveland" episode just destroys me every time. i keep on playing it for people, and no one feels it as hard as i do.
anyway, i love this fucking show.

Bonus points for tacking on an Andrea Mitchell cameo too. Never seen that before.

― Johnny Fever, Friday, 1 October 2010 00:57 (fifteen years ago)
tracy visited the statue of liberty for its centennial anniversary, cause he'd heard he'd be able to see its boob(s), and he knew that was in 1986 cause he got attacked by a mets fan for something about the 1986 world series, and he knew how many years a centennial was cause "centipeding" means to have sex with 100 women, so 1986 - 100 = 1786!
― del griffith, Friday, 1 October 2010 01:08 (fifteen years ago)
1886. know yr maths.
