oh man sorry, don't take any more suggestions from me then.

xpost--my wife and i hated the last scene. and as she said "A woman would never leave her purse behind like that."

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:47 (eighteen years ago)

at least we agree on THERE WILL BE BLOOD

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

yah anyone who cant agree on that is just looney

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

:YES

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

that's EXACTLY what i said to my bf: no one would leave their purse behind like that. awful. ruined it.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

i just felt like that final scene was trying to salvage a situation where the characters had veered into caricature - which just cant work when youve raised the stakes by making the movie so ridiculously painful - there were actually a lot of things i liked abt it tho

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

i was like ready to grant the movie some exceptions yada yada yada if it tied it together well, and then she left her purse in the fucking parking lot.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i don't know how you could have written a good ending to that, a Mom/kid away on the bus ending is always gonna be weepy

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

yea i definitely got into it or whatever, but the dialogue sounded staged to me.

did you see it at BAM?

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

naw i watched it @ home last nite

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

aaahhh

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

i thought the dialog was great, especially the fights. the car scenes were really tense too.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

okay but look -- is that the dialogue that REALLY happens when families get ugly? or is that drama-glam dialogue?

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

it was like: i really liked the tree climbing - then fire department came wtf it kept being like that

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

the nicole kidman relationship with her kid was soooo fucked up and awesome

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:54 (eighteen years ago)

best explanation for MLP love is the Barlett Wins Again West Wing ep - red dress, sounds perpetually bored, talking about her high-stakes gambling on political races

milo z, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

i liked when dude zinged her at the reading and the discussion of why they used to fuck so much

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

basically i liked it when kidman got zinged

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

ah okay. i hate her perpetually bored voice and i hated that character on West Wing.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:03 (eighteen years ago)

sjp is a hideous beast

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

"tight little body" is a perfect, non-judgmental description of SJP.

She has NO fat on her body.

And her body is little.

I, for one, think she is NOT attractive at all, but I could see how someone would agree - her husband, for instance.

B.L.A.M., Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:00 (eighteen years ago)

haha roxy!!

i talked to john turturro on the phone today -- he's so sweet!!!

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:05 (eighteen years ago)

yeah she's like a piece of ham xp

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:05 (eighteen years ago)

The accuracy of the statement "tight little body" is irrelevant in light of the fact that it is something said only by male undergrads with gel in their hair and diagonal stripes on their opalescent, Polo Sport-drenched shirts.

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:05 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Turturro is so awesome!

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:06 (eighteen years ago)

any attraction I could potentially have for her is completely obliterated by that annoying character she played on that annoying show. maybe that's unfair, but there you have it.

will, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:06 (eighteen years ago)

she's like a piece of ham?

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:06 (eighteen years ago)

pink and salty?

"If SJP's face were butter, yet would I hold it!"

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

yeah she just looks like a cold-cut.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 02:09 (eighteen years ago)

It is depressing me that this thread is now about some twee hatchetface.
