madchen, do you speak italian? could you aid in the purchase of a t-shirt?

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

could I resist a 'deleuze' t-shirt?!

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I could!

the bellefox, Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Cozen, I'd resist anything sold as 'highbrow streetwear'.

But the answer is yes, I do. Pick your colour:

(background/writing)
white/black
black/white
royal blue/white
navy blue/white
red/white
english green (bottle?)/white
yellow/white (this seems like a silly colour choice unless you want people to squint at your chest)

Men's sizes - this is for you, right?
XS - age 12-13 (48.5 x 65 cm)
S - continental size 36-38 (48.5 x 69.5 cm)
M - continental size 38-40 (53.5 x 72 cm)
L - continental size 40-42 (56 x 74.5 cm)
I'm not sure which of the centimetre sizes are chest and which are length - get a tape measure and compare with a t-shirt you already own.

The t-shirts cost €31.20 including VAT. However, they only do mail order to people in Italy. However again, Ally and I will be in Milan from 11th to 14th December, so we could track down the Deejay Choice shop and make a purchase on your behalf if you wish.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

will you buy me glass polar bears?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, 'highbrow streetwear' ugh and also the rest of the designs (exc. maybe 'lacan') are rub rub rubbish.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

oh! thank you madchen, for your kind offer, and the translation. I will think about whether I want to pay £24 (??) for a 'deleuze' t. and then get back to you.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty sure, that you don't want to.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm so sure myself but I ought to think.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Where is Glasgow going?

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

hollywood.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Bollyrood.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Glasgow (well, the Renfrew division) will be going to the pub tomorrow night. Do you fancy some united-across-the-Old-Firm-divide football watching, Ally (and anyone else?). It was so much fun the last time we watched an Old Firm game together...

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

my friend had a D&G t shirt that said "Deluze and Guattari" under it rather than "Dolce and Gabbana".

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I'd been around a few posts ago to make an ill-thought out "don't be saussure" joke at cozen. Oh well, next time.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

hahaha

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure I don't want one.

there's a thread around, with a string of posts with puns on intellectuals' names.

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry Ailsa, didn't watch the game in the end. You'll be glad I missed the opportunity.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 11 November 2004 01:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Just mentioned that on the thread started by the amusingly named Billy Mason!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 11 November 2004 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

goodness nick, 'the boiler', what a horrible song.

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 15 November 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I had the delightful experience of hearing Isobel Campbell wheeze sing two songs last night.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 15 November 2004 15:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have a lot of experience.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 November 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Lay it on us, Madchen, preferably via the medium of Sinister.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

It was as expected. She has very long hair now.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Where do you see such things? How do you know about such things? If I had known, I would have been there with a waterpistol and a pile of rotten tomatoes or something.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Poor Isobel. Always misunderstood.

Maybe you're all just jealous.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't know. She just....appeared. She is fairly awful but obviously we would all still like to sleep with her, anyway.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

In your flat? In the street? Out of a magic lamp?

I don't want to sleep with her.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, you do.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I wouldn't fit in the bed beside her arse for a start. *chortle*

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I would get a bigger bed.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

You are weird. I don't want to sleep with Isobel Campbell. Secretly or otherwise.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe she wants to sleep with you. Are you coming to my birthday party?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Where is your birthday party? Is it on your birthday? Do I have to sleep with Isobel Campbell?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd do it in my flat, in the street or out of a magic lamp.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Does this answer, everything?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

WOWEE!

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

There's still the question of whether or not that date is your birthday or not, and whether Ailsa has to sleep with Isobel.

KeithW (kmw), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

No and no.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Ow, and wow, in equal measures. Yes, thank you. I may be there. Is it really five years since the legendary one?

xpost -it's not his birthday, and I'm not sleeping with Isobel. Pervert :)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

being the queen, that he is, his real birthday is a private affair, a couple of days after (it is not on the weekend, so no-one will care).

ailsa doesn't.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

It wasn't my question! It was yours!

KeithW (kmw), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG will not be there, not on my birthday, so it's OK for evryone to come.

RJG may be there. He is raising money, though.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I am confused.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Isobel Campbell will not be there. Does that make things clearer?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be there, and I will make an extra effort to stay up past 12.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:37 (twenty-one years ago)

No. Will RJG be there? He both is, and isn't, according to you. Or is he? There are too many "not"s in that sentence. (xpost)

On a totally unrelated note, if Andy Walker mentions the totally-made-up-word "bouncebackability" one more time on Scotsport just now, I will scream. Can one of you run down the road to the STV studios and hit him for me?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

My appearance at your birthday is not contingent on RJG's being there, or not, incidentally I just like to know these things.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I remember when Andy Walker said he "rose like a salmon". Why does that stick in my mind?

I think RJG will be there.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)
