the new apple trackpad! : hey, remember when you bought that mouse because you found those laptop fingerpads slow, dirty, and generally annoying? well, we've replaced your mice with trackpads! "this is truly magic stuff we're making here at apple mac comput0rz" - says industry genius steve jobs.

lieutenant jimmy john (kelpolaris), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 19:54 (fifteen years ago)

o man that is just SCATHING - im selling my apple stock right now

snrub-n-tug (s1ocki), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 19:55 (fifteen years ago)

I don't remember when apple marketed that you were supposed to buy a mouse because laptop trackpods were annoying.

dan selzer, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 19:57 (fifteen years ago)

shhhhh i want to hear more biting satire

max, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 20:01 (fifteen years ago)

I need to learn to love the MBP trackpad, I'm tired of carrying a trackball everywhere I take the laptop.

a cross between lily allen and fetal alcohol syndrome (milo z), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 20:04 (fifteen years ago)

definitely want the new appletv, since it's only $99 and does netflix which makes it cheaper than a rokku and I can use it to stream my itunes as well.

akm, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 20:08 (fifteen years ago)

new itunes logo looks exactly like columbia logos from the 60's:

the new ipod nano!: in return for your trade-off of screen size, a scroll wheel, radio, and portable video device... we give you the ability to clip it onto your collar! now you can *show* people that you're listening to an ipod - that, you sir, are a trendsetter. wait, that's not all! we now give you *multi-touch*! in the rare occurence that you actually need more than one finger - albeit fit more than one finger - onto our *crisp* tiny ass screens, you will be able to listen to more animal collective: with two fingers! with two fingers! apple mac comput0rz: we r the fucher.

lieutenant jimmy john (kelpolaris), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 20:24 (fifteen years ago)

jeff, Thursday, 9 September 2010 02:26 (fifteen years ago)

Just seen Gruber backpedal past my window:

In particular, we are relaxing all restrictions on the development tools used to create iOS apps, as long as the resulting apps do not download any code. This should give developers the flexibility they want, while preserving the security we need.
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2010/09/09statement.html

James Mitchell, Thursday, 9 September 2010 13:54 (fifteen years ago)

In addition, for the first time we are publishing the App Store Review Guidelines to help developers understand how we review submitted apps. We hope it will make us more transparent and help our developers create even more successful apps for the App Store.

finally!

snrub-n-tug (s1ocki), Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:23 (fifteen years ago)

does anyone have an explanation for Ping? i'm just baffled

progressive cuts (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:26 (fifteen years ago)

Seems to have all the commercialism of itunes plus all the utility of mobile me

mh, Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:27 (fifteen years ago)

http://weheartbooks.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/story-about-ping-cover.jpg

Euler, Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:28 (fifteen years ago)

apparently Ping is better suited for iTunes ON IPHONE - shame none of the bands or friends I actually care about are on it.

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:33 (fifteen years ago)

ya ping looks terrible. like seems to totally misunderstand social networking stuff.

snrub-n-tug (s1ocki), Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:34 (fifteen years ago)

lol gruber

caek, Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:36 (fifteen years ago)

apple have never really got social networking (or "the web" for that matter) but the network effect of ping is going to be pretty fierce

caek, Thursday, 9 September 2010 14:37 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

10' Macbook, please:

Apple will be holding a media event titled “Back to the Mac” on October 20. The invitation seems to indicate that the focus of the meeting will be on/around Mac OS X 10.7 — maybe to be called “Lion”? — and the Mac.

got a magic mouse for my birthday, it's a marvel, well done apple

former moderator, please give generously (DG), Thursday, 14 October 2010 10:45 (fifteen years ago)

got my apple tv today, quite nice. this is my first experience with streaming netflix, a bit pixely, probably my bandwidth which is absolutely shitty. nice to finally get around to streaming my itunes library to the stereo, a bit overwhelming, I guess I should really fix those tags. $99 well spent considering all the CDs have to be in storage now (and if I can stand it, sold)

akm, Saturday, 16 October 2010 05:05 (fifteen years ago)

also, it bears stating again, that there are few things as satisfying and opening and unwrapping new apple products.

akm, Saturday, 16 October 2010 05:05 (fifteen years ago)

stream's on

markers, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 17:00 (fifteen years ago)

what is twitter saying?

caek, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 17:07 (fifteen years ago)

Apple jumps on the letterpress bandwagon.

dan selzer, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 17:12 (fifteen years ago)
