Yeah drop7 is crack. Now even thinking of buying the soundtrack on iTunes

the couple of weeks we went without drop7 following the iOS 4 rollout was painful

I've already settled on Echofon for Twitter and I quite like it.

Rss reader: for iPad I would say Reeder without any doubt. For iPhone I might give a small edge to Byline
As for IM: been happy for a while with Nimbuzz, which I also use on my desktop

reeder for iphone has gotten buggier lately. also, not free. (though worth a few bucks imo)

is flipboard a good rss reader?

It's visually pleasing and fun for a while but I can't imagine using it that seriously

yes - in the end I managed to get it through Mobistar's website (you just need to refresh the store page for an hour or so and eventually you'll manage to order it). I only bought the new phone cuz my 3G was getting unbearably slow. I now think I should have waited for the OS 4.1 which fixes that apparently but w/e - the new one is really incredibly fast and responsive.

I am now an iPhone4 cunt. Big difference from my old RIP Sony Ericsson phone. I don't know what to do with ti! I have to use iTunes for a start, and that thing seems to love rearranging my music collection so that it makes no sense at all. Also - how do I tell if I'm being charged to go online or use an app? Such a luddite.

Huh? If you're not on WIFI and you have your mobile settings, I assume you'll get charged. Don't know if I am explaining it properly. I switched it off after getting a GIGANTIC phone bill. lol. Actually the mobile company set it off for me. hahah

i have a certain amount of data transfer free with my o2 contract, but i never know whether that is being used up or whether i am using wifi. i was told it would connect automatically with wifi. never mind, i'm sure i'll work it out.

You can look up your bill online, and on the phone, too. The app for that is pre-installed.

Any really solid/quintessential biking apps? I don't need an odometer or anything but I'm looking for things that will:

• Accurately trace my route (preferably one that supports multitasking)
• Give me bike directions, since the Maps app doesn't have them :(

after just over a month, the camera on my 4 just completely stopped working. and a little research shows this is apparently a common problem, which is probably going to necessitate an entirely new phone.

Beejive is crazy $$$. I had eBuddy and couldn't stand it for the same reason. I switched to Meebo and it's not totally perfect but it is p. much better than eBuddy in every way and I was completely delighted when I made the switch.

IM+ is a great chat app. Don't be cheap, just buy it and stop worrying about what you should use for IM.

I mean, if it's a really solid app with some unique and wonderful functionality I could see a justification of a $10 pricetag, but a client for a chat protocol? When several others exist for free and some of them are v decent?

I've never had IM+ crash, it works like i want it to work. Supports all chat services. $10 is 2 drinks, one lunch. Not a big deal when you think about it.

ok so I'm not going to update my touch to iOS 4 anytime soon (2nd generation, reports are that it will act badly after update, & I'm happy with its present behavior/capabilities). But some of my apps are being updated to require iOS 4. Obv. I don't want to update these apps. But in iTunes, next to Apps in my library, it now shows a 5, indicating that I've 5 apps needing updating, & I don't want to update them. How can I get this number to go away w/o updating?
