I kind of love Leonard and Taylor together up there. Not, like, as a couple. Just as photo subjects.

x-post

iirc it's some dude in the opening band she was touring with

I think the girl with Cohen is T Swift and that it's just an awful pic of her.

Holy crap @ the P Farrell/T Blair pic. Is Blair a shorty or is Farrell freakishly tall? He looks mega strange in that pic.

Blair's over six foot iirc - Perry Farrell must have on an outrageous set of platforms

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 5 September 2010 07:42 (fifteen years ago)

oh, thanks for the clarication. she looks particularly surly in that picture which is why I got her confused with MIA (also, not knowing who either of those two people are). xp

john kerry and lil kim is my favourite so far

can people actually, like, write who is who? i seriously don't recognise 80% of these people, even the ones i've heard of

Lex, just tried to phone you - BRUNCH?

maintenant avec plus de fromage (suzy), Sunday, 5 September 2010 09:49 (fifteen years ago)

haha what it comes to when i get messages faster thru ilx than on my phone, which is...on the other side of the room somewhere, and on silent

sadly i'm ill this weekend - just a cold but you really don't want me sneezing all over you today. however i'd be up for some weekday brunch this week?

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Sunday, 5 September 2010 09:54 (fifteen years ago)

LOL, figured your phone was on silent. We should go for HIGH TEA at Dean Street Townhouse instead because I am obsessed with it. Have things every day this week (I know!!) except for Friday but on Tuesday things might work out - have editor lunch the next day and have to wait in until 5 for a delivery.

(oh hai ILX, welcome to my schedule)

maintenant avec plus de fromage (suzy), Sunday, 5 September 2010 10:01 (fifteen years ago)

my phone's always on silent! or vibrate, amounts to the same thing at home. texts get noticed quicker as it flashes when they come in. sadly, twitter/email works quickest unless i am genuinely incommunicado.

i've never been to dean st townhouse so YES, definitely up for that. tues will work for me if it works for you, if not raincheck until a quieter and less ill week...

maybe she wrote a song called "Base-a-ball" about her time at the park

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 5 May 2026 18:23 (one month ago)

She went to Jarry Park to shoot the photos that illustrate this article. On location, she obediently followed along with all the photographer’s requests.

Later, she admitted, “It was the first time I’d seen baseball players. They’re huge! In France, we’re not used to seeing men that big.”

During the pre-game workout, balls whizzed past her, flying from all directions. The people accompanying her — her agent, Lionel Roc, and her guide, Pierre David of CJMS Productions, took cover. She remained, without the slightest bit of worry. Serious.

But later, in the stands, she had fun playing the fan, an Expos cap on her head and a hot dog in her hand.

not Francoise but Serge wrote a song called Baseball where the word baaaaase is really stretched out so it sounds like baise because of course he'd do a song like that
features in the 1967 film Anna

I thought the Expos logo was a stylized EB for Seagram’s mogul Edgar Bronfman?

Brenton Wood Conference (Boring, Maryland), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 19:53 (one month ago)

I kind of forgot about the Expos until I was in Montreal last summer and bought a hat because the logo is awesome, plus it was a buy-one-get-one sale and my son got a Seattle Sonics hat for extra obselete teams bonus.

Anyway, if you ever want baseball nerds to flip out or get all glassy-eyed and nostalgic I suggest wearing an Expos hat around in public; sadly I don't know or care about baseball but it's kind of amazing how many reactions I've gotten.
