I had to mediate an art talk between Jarv and one other at the Tate; afterwards the Talks woman took all of us to dinner. We decided to carry on afterward and made our way to Dean Street from the restaurant in Lexington Street and Jarvis was apprehended so often it was like watching a politician making his way down a rope line...entirely filled with drunks. We didn't want a posher version of same so we swerved the Groucho for Jerry's Theatre Bar and a Bontempi organ where Jarvis wound up leading the room's singalong to Andy Williams tracks.

Although I've lived in this neighbourhood for almost three years, the past two weeks have offered me my first hungover-and-going-for-coffee-in-sweatpants sightings of Rupert Everett, who lives around the corner. First time I was sitting with a bunch of gay friends on a corner table outside the pub, and he stared at us (one of them was a well-known gay journalist) while passing - three times - and the second was last Saturday when I was getting on the Tube at Holborn. It was 8am, so somebody getting out to go home had clearly ridden the Slut Express and picked up a newspaper on the way.

This summer, while having drinks with Alex in NYC in NYC, Courtney Love staggered out of a building across the street and got into a town car parked five feet from our outdoor table. Besides a lot of nose wiping with the back of her hand she looked pretty together.

Alec Baldwin today on Madison Ave in the 50s. He was sort of forcefully rushing his way into a building and getting annoyed with people. He had a very impressive presence, I must say.

Quite a while ago, but still - was at the Tame Impala approx a month ago here in Denver and Wayne's nephews band Stardeath & The White Dwarfs is supposed to play: well, they don't and instead we get a fairly bland local band that seemed to view this as their time to shine to the biggest audience they ever were going to get and thus their set-list took for fucking ever.

Anyways, dude comes up behind me and it's Wayne Coyne - I didn't even need a double take, it was just *him*, with the hair and the scarf and the suit which I didn't really think he wore in ~casual lyfe~. I wanted to shake his hand but he was getting a video of the concert and generally, as I saw him later during the night, was somewhat glad I hadn't as the hand-shakes he was being asked for seemed incredibly brief and seemed to contribute mostly to annoying him.

I've always despised the way people would give you every detail leading up to celebrity sighting in their recounts done in their heads, so I'm a little shocked I just did it. I didn't even warrant seeing Wayne Coyne as a facebook status update - I basically wanted to reserve it for my friends whom liked the band (not many).

She has an installation at a gallery (based on Grey Gardens) and one of her friends there couldn't remember the directors' name and when I said Maysles she said "She's here do you want to meet her?" All I said to her was "I saw you perform at the Hong Kong Cafe in 79 or 80."
