I think there'll be a dot-com boom in the coming year. People will stop going out and spending money and will hang out on Facebook for free instead. My Ruby Rails friends have their pick of lucrative work.

does anyone else get the "This" movie channel? we didn't receive it until we got an HD tv so it might just be digital. i just watched a movie where robert duvall finds out he's half black and has to reconcile with his half-brother james earl jones (this was actually not bad). now they're showing something called "convict cowboy" starring jon voight and marcia gay harden. based on the opening credits, it's about competitive prison rodeos.

it also has the coach from the tv version of friday night lights

also the creepy southern guy from prison break, who apparently specializes in playing evil prisoners

Are you using rabbit ears, Nick? I don't get This, but I do get all varieties of digital channels including Ion Life (get it? 'igh on life) which is a "lifestyle" channel. They has 2 or 3 programs that they show over and over, including one where 3 hot girls in bikinis (different ones on each episode) host a trip to tropical locales. There is a lot of giggling, touching, and T&A.

another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Friday, 14 November 2008 17:21 (seventeen years ago)

we get ion life too ... we're using rabbit ears. "This" is pretty new I think so you might have to have your tv scan for channels again ... it's channel 26-4 on our system

using a click track yanks you out of the realm of live drumming (n/a), Friday, 14 November 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)

Oh, good!

Ion life is just weird. They have a show called Taste, which is about booze. It is hosted by a guy who is strangely expresionless. And sometimes the show will go to credits right in the middle of someone's sentence.

The travel show I mentioned is clearly meant to be quasi-porno.

another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Friday, 14 November 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

I have been saying forever that Obama should do Fireside Chats a la FDR and apparently he listened to me.

I hear Obama is going to appoint you as Chief Technology Officer.

He'll be all like, "Jesse, I need a report on the infrastructure needed to extend government-run WiFi networks into all metro areas over 100,000 people." And you can be like, "Google it."

tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Friday, 14 November 2008 19:32 (seventeen years ago)

And then he'll be like, "Dude, that's your answer for everything," and then give you noogies.

Oooh and I must remember to advise him as to the potential benefits of changing his last name to O'Bama.

How long has the Fire been around?

another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Saturday, 15 November 2008 07:02 (seventeen years ago)

Was it always burning? Since the World's been turning?

another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Saturday, 15 November 2008 07:02 (seventeen years ago)

The Chicago Fire is a professional soccer club based in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Illinois, USA. It participates in Major League Soccer. The team was founded October 8, 1997 on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. In 1998, their first season in the league, the Fire won the MLS Cup as well as the U.S. Open Cup (the "double"). They have also won the 2000, 2003, and 2006 U.S. Open Cup.

~90 yrs to go

Hey. So tonight we did a run-through of these short plays I'm involved with, and they have turned out really well. I never, never bring people to see something I couldn't actually get behind or think is worth seeing, so I'm saying that these are good. Free preview tomorrow night (Sat.) if you want a risk-free night on the town. $10 tix for Sunday if ordered through here. And that's that.

Eazy, Saturday, 15 November 2008 08:29 (seventeen years ago)

Jeff and I are going next Saturday! I'm excited.

tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Saturday, 15 November 2008 16:23 (seventeen years ago)

so is there a hang-out sesh tonight?

Your original display name will be displayed in brackets. (dan m), Sunday, 16 November 2008 16:32 (seventeen years ago)

Tuna is not mandatory.

fiscal liberal (kenan), Sunday, 16 November 2008 17:01 (seventeen years ago)

hey we saw ez's play (and the 11 others last night) -- recommended! i'm not going to say that there weren't a few stinkers,
but they were outnumbered by the ones we liked.
so glad we went.

La Lechera, Sunday, 16 November 2008 17:51 (seventeen years ago)

ally is at the fifty-50 bar watching football now if anyone wants to go meet her

using a click track yanks you out of the realm of live drumming (n/a), Sunday, 16 November 2008 19:35 (seventeen years ago)

I want to meet her, but not enough to go struttin' in without a backup friend to talk to. I don't think I even know all the basic rules of football.

fiscal liberal (kenan), Sunday, 16 November 2008 21:28 (seventeen years ago)
