Lost Season 6 - RE: LA X

2 months after the fact. I hardly ever think about it any more. The journey was fun, but we ended up in church. Oh well, we can leave and never have to return.

for me, the series "ended" w/ the Jacob/MIB origin story, compounded by the "Chucky Cheese" quip. Everything after that was just coasting toward the inevitable & I honestly just did not give a fuck anymore.

I starting watching this from the start with my sons recently. I forgot how much I loved early Lost - John Locke is just fucking great right from the off.

The kids are loving every minute of it and demanding to watch a new episode every night. Last night we stayed up late for the Season One finale - MOI BOIBEE!!!/WWWWAAAALLLLTTT!!!!/STOP, THE NUMBERS ARE BAD!!!!

Much less of Smokey in the first season than I remember - kills the pilot, faces down Locke, makes the odd noise, tries to drag Locke down a hole. You only really get one glimpse of actual moving sentient smoke.

Can't wait for the Season Two opener.

RIP enjoying LOST.

on hulu, if you play the finale, it loops back onto the pilot episode. one thing i noticed in the pilot was a lot less talking!

Sayid kicking the shit out of Benry (I completely forgot about Danielle putting an arrow through him), Benry pushing Locke's buttons, Charlie the social outcast, Kate finding the theatrical beard looking for Boibee medicine, Sawyer getting all New Sheriff In Town and killing tree frogs.

I dreamed a few nights ago that Nestor Carbonell was so upset with the outcome of the series (and the whimper with which they let his complex character bow out) that he essentially became Alpert in real life and wrote fan fiction continuing the tale with him as a more central figure.

Halfway through S5 in my LOST rerun. Sayid just shot young Ben - introducing my sons to time paradoxes (if Sayid kills Ben he won't be there to kill Ben). I sent them to bed with a homework question - where did Locke's/Alpert's compass come from? :)

I can't hold it in any longer. Went to a friend's wedding this past weekend and Jon Gries was there! Apparently he's buds with the groom. I was too starstruck to approach him, unfortunately.

Just finished this series... can't be arsed to read upthread but holy fuck this was the lamest, most candy-ass ending imaginable. Good job writers.

Somewhat surprised one can find a petition to get the dude from Weezer to stop making albums but absolutely none came of getting Damon Lindelof to kill himself.

I loved the hell out of this show for most of its run, but season 6 and especially the final episode just completely poisoned the entire experience of discovery that I enjoyed so much about it.

Season 5 was the final season of one of my favorite shows ever. Season 6 was a long practical joke that you guys all fell for, LOL
