Cartilage head is when I went from being all "um hey non-internet friends I like this comic online maybe you'd like to see one of them no okay that's alright" to "FUCKIN' RIGHT ACHEWOOD I WILL FIGHT YOU."

A friend bought me the Ray gets stoned one linked upthread awhile back. It is framed and hung in the hallway. Most people who come by do not really understand what it is doing there.

me: Oh, I had a dream that St. Louis got nuked. So, y'know, keep an eye out. s.: Will do. me: Also a horrific dream that I met my ex in Portland, had a nice time, were going to get back together, but she decided not to, but wanted me to pretend we had, just to freak out her boyfriend. s.: Well I'm glad your dreams are being nicer to you. me: It was so bad that I realized I was dreaming but couldn't wake up, but was able to bargain with my subconscious to let me watch it take place in comic form. me: Drawn by Chris Onstad. s.: dude. that's just weird.

The other day my friend went on this insane rant about how he hates the farming industry which for all the world reminded me of Pat phoning up talk radio and shouting about how barbers should be paid less. But it would have been way too long and arcane to try and explain it so I just let him go on

Roast Beef's future is confusing - he grows hair, then loses it? He doesn't die, just ... disappears.

yeah thanks to this thread I have discovered the genius of this, been obsessively reading through from the beginning. Are the blogs... worthwhile?

they're a bit hit and miss, pat's one is quite funny:

I wouldn't really have time to keep up with them sadly. I'm sure if you read them regularly they would be. I would love the new t shirt. Not willing to spend yet more money on achewood stuff just yet though...
― kv_nol, Thursday, 4 October 2007 08:25 (eighteen years ago)
kev, do they deliver to the UK swiftly? is postage pricy? i want a stoned lightning tee shirt.
― stevie, Thursday, 4 October 2007 09:19 (eighteen years ago)
I'm in Ireland but I think it's much of a muchness. The cost of postage isn't high, it's pretty normal for the US to Europe. They do bundle things though which means that you save a bit of money. It is very slow getting to you, they only have one person (I think) working with them on the mail outs so things can get a bit held up. It normally takes about 2 weeks all told. They're very good with emails though so if you're worried you can email and expect a reply.
In short: Buy it.
― kv_nol, Thursday, 4 October 2007 09:32 (eighteen years ago)
In re: blogs
They're way worthwhile, espec. Ray, Beef, and Cornelius.
Not essential, but next time you embark on a re-reading (as we all must do at times), opt to read them instead.
There's a storyline in there with Ray as a "silent partner" in a pub Cornelius runs that is A++ Can Do With a Yes Attitude.
