The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 5 May 2006 12:47 (twenty years ago)

Cool, Kelsey! Are there pix online?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 12:47 (twenty years ago)

xp - should i already know this? if so, i apologize for forgetting. i'm starting to think that maybe i should write things down more.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 5 May 2006 12:48 (twenty years ago)

awesome, i forgot to pay my gas bill with people's energy last month and realized it was due wednesday. not wanting a late payment to appear on my credit report i just logged on to try to pay it. turns out i have a credit of $71 on my account. THANKS $100 CREDIT!!!

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 12:50 (twenty years ago)

Where did the credit come from? You just overpaid previously? I love it when that happens. I got a $50 check a couple of weeks ago for overpaying a hospital fee that had been sent to a debt collector.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:11 (twenty years ago)

1. Jordan, my face breaks out when I travel, too. It's like the strange water confuses my face.

2. Some douche company makes anti-chafe lotion. Try that, Jesse. I'll buy it for you if you're scared to by douche company lotion marketed to women with fat thighs. Also, does wearing boxer briefs (the long tighty whiteys) help at all?

3. Whoa, hey, yeah, what are you guys doing in China? How long?

4. The credit is a settlement from some sort of suit against the gas company for overcharging people. Everybody who has an account with People's Energy got $100. That will get us through the next four months!

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:14 (twenty years ago)

Or I think it was a settlement. Maybe they felt bad about all the impoverished old people who froze to death because they turned off their gas for nonpayment. But it was something like that.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:17 (twenty years ago)

yeah, between the fact that i don't cook and my apartment has no heat i'm golden!!

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:18 (twenty years ago)

Leaf's going b/c it's a new program with his school. I'm going b/c I'm inbetween jobs & got $$ from my grandpa when he passed away. I need to figure out what I'm going to "do" while there . .. I'll probably try & work under the table teaching or something. Ideally, I'd like to take or audit language classes so I can brush up, but I don't know how feasible that is.

We leave May 23 & come back July 3. If anyone wants anything, let me know!! It's cheaper there!

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:19 (twenty years ago)

We have a China program at my school, too. A lot of my friends went last year and had a blast. Apparently you can get "Le Sport Sac" bags for approximately $2 a piece.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:23 (twenty years ago)

I remember people getting North Face coats for about $50.

Also, just cause I'm hogging the floor here: Today Leaf & I turn two!

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:30 (twenty years ago)

Yay! Happy anniversary!

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:31 (twenty years ago)

That's great. For some reason I thought it had been longer.

Also great: women with fat thighs.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:32 (twenty years ago)

I don't think we're doing anything, actually. He's at his 3rd to last exam today. If john's online, jesse is in town & we might see him later.
We are toying with the idea of going to the mall of america briefly. i find that idea kind of hilarious & sickening.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:33 (twenty years ago)

that fat thigh thing sounds awesome. i need some for when I wear skirts in the summer. i think i might buy some spandex for that too...if not for the rubbin', for the bike ridin'.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:34 (twenty years ago)

Also great: women with fat thighs.

all women have this bit of fat on their inner thigh and it is by far my favorite part of a woman.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:35 (twenty years ago)

Btw Kelsey, I told you that my Vietnamese place in Mpls is Quang, not Lotus, right?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:36 (twenty years ago)

It is? Awesome. I think I know where that place is, actually.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:38 (twenty years ago)

At first I read that as responding to Otto's post.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:39 (twenty years ago)

Anyway yeah, all I know is that it's in a stripmall somewhere close to my friend's place (which is roughly 31st & Elliot).

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:42 (twenty years ago)

The problem with fat thighs is that, with a little wardrobe management they might look all "sexy secretary" under skirts but in seen in shorts/bathing suit/nekkid they are just...lumpy and disproportionate. It's only cute on 13-yr old gymnasts because they don't really have any body fat.

KELSEY I am so excited for your China adventure! Please to write & illustrate a Tintin-style book about it!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:43 (twenty years ago)

somewhere close to my friend's place

at first i thought you were responding to my p- oh nevermind.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:43 (twenty years ago)

Happy anniversary, Kelsey!

I wonder if Nick knows about that credit as he pays the People's Energy bill... Nick, Hi. Did you know about that?

I can appreciate some meaty womanly thighs, or at least I appreciate my own. I think I'd look pretty weird without thighs.

Only somewhat-related... A woman in my office who is fairly tall came in yesterday wearing capris. Her legs are normally covered up in fancy jeans. She's very skinny and rich and Senora Fancy Pants.. LITERALLY. Anyway, she comes in wearing capris and I see her legs for the first time, at least the bottoms of them, and they seriously looked like one of those horrible pictures of starving people in Africa. Yuck.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:46 (twenty years ago)

i've got legs like starving people in africa too, except WAY paler. don't hate.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:49 (twenty years ago)

ewwww, flies everywhere??

gbx (skowly), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:50 (twenty years ago)

Haha, without thighs it wd be difficult to connect my upper body to lower. But that doesn't mean I haven't wished I could wear fashionable skinny jeans and look sleek and boyish like the cool girls. Oh well. BUILT FOR SURVIVAL.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:50 (twenty years ago)

I do not wear shorts. Me in a bathing suit presents so many visual problems that I like to think that they all cancel each other out. Besides, bathing suits are kind of great equalizers - nobody looks as good as we all believe we're supposed to look.

As for nudity, I think that when presented with a naked female, heterosexual males are thinking more along the lines of, "YAY NAKED LADY WHOOOOOOO HOT DAMN SHE'S TOTALLY NAKED NOW YESSSS!!!" than "Hmm... her thighs are a little disproportionate to the rest of her body..."

BUILT FOR SURVIVAL - Ha! Damn right!

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 13:53 (twenty years ago)

"YAY NAKED LADY WHOOOOOOO HOT DAMN SHE'S TOTALLY NAKED NOW YESSSS!!!"

i'll vouch for this, it also leads back to why that inner-thigh fat is my favorite part of a woman.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:00 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, sorry -- I'm embarrassing myself and will shut up now. People in being put together differently SHOCKAH.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:01 (twenty years ago)

Happy anniversary Kelsey! And congrats on things shaping up for Beijing. Exciting.

If john's online, jesse is in town & we might see him later.

Jesse ... wait, who? J3ss3 McL3ll@nd?

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:02 (twenty years ago)

Skinny boy legs are understandable, otto. You are forgiven. This woman is just taking the boyish look to extreme, ick levels. She needs to eat more.

I wish my elbows weren't so boney because I'm always jabbing Nick with them at night, but is there a nice alternative? Meaty elbows?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:03 (twenty years ago)

I like my woman's elbows to have some meat on 'em!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:05 (twenty years ago)

Boys make eyes at girls with thighs.

Eazy (Eazy), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:06 (twenty years ago)

Tire had a hole in it, will probably be fixed today, so yay. Towing was mad expensive, though.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:07 (twenty years ago)

It will all be over soon, John. One day you'll look back at this and laugh and laugh... Oh Boy.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:09 (twenty years ago)

I just may do that, Laurel! I've been itchin' for some new art projects to dive into...

John, Jesse of Mark's Friend fame.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:13 (twenty years ago)

Right. That one. As I said.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:14 (twenty years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:14 (twenty years ago)

(xp: That's cool that you're in touch with him!)

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:15 (twenty years ago)

Jordan, I wonder if they have any slightly sexier versions of those that would look nice with my camisole sets?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:15 (twenty years ago)

Towing is expensive, yes. That's why we gave you SO MANY other options, John. See? Always your best interests at heart.

Sarah, one sometimes reads descriptions in Wodehouse and assorted early-20th century fiction of "dimpled elbows", which sounds rawther adorable but in reality? I dunno. They're probably just normal? I can't tell anymore, NYC has screwed up my standards (I know this because I was in MI last weekend and WHOAH).

XP: ADD LACE.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:17 (twenty years ago)

Sarah, perhaps for your next project you could knit some cozy elbow pads?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:18 (twenty years ago)

Red would match..

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:18 (twenty years ago)

Two things - (1) I like my thighs better now that they have some meat on them and

My friend works at M0torola and Bono is in her office right now. Like, on Michigan Ave. She saw him twice and he was wearing shades indoors.

The Milkmaid: spreading gossip since 1975 (The Milkmaid), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:19 (twenty years ago)

Hmm... maybe...
For now I could just wad up some silk slips and rubberband them around my arms. Pure class.

I would think he would be more recognizable WITH shades on.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:19 (twenty years ago)

No, Laurel! Don't shut up - I was just trying to make you feel better about the naked thing by pointing out that men are basically simple creatures...* I'm a walking bag of body issues, so I totally feel where you're coming from.

*winky face

NYC has screwed up my standards - I went from the NC to Chicago and I would probably break down and weep after half a day in NY.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:19 (twenty years ago)

RETAKE! I went from living in NC to living in Chicago, etc.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:20 (twenty years ago)

Who wants to go to MI Ave and give Bono a kick in the pants with me? Just for shits and giggles.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 5 May 2006 14:21 (twenty years ago)

He waved at my friend! Like HALLO RED ROCKS!
