A new 30 Rock thread because I can't find the old one

I liked this episode and the last one well enough. Usually LOVE 30 Rock though. Feel it's yet to hit its stride since the break. I don't get the idea that there's been some corporate/soulless change in direction or anything. It's still the same as its ever been as far as plot and characterisation is going, just the material is a little weaker. Still, more memorable and roflworthy lines in a sub-par episode of 30 Rock than in 99% of comedy shows.

"My boy Kenneth's going through some rough times. They're trying to make him wear a coat that's different from his other coat."

I wonder what Richard Moll had going on that was so important he couldn't make it on board for this episode. Were his terms really that non-negotiable?

aniston was pretty saucy

Aniston was easily the best part of this episode, and I find that really weird.

I didn't like this much last night, but going back and reading all the jokes here makes it seem funnier.

I thought the Office episode last night was better than the 30 Rock episode.

But It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia trumped them both.

I'm glad Arrested Development didn't have some dickweed playing clarinet all over it. I'd like this show a whole lot more without the constant orchestral whimsy.

aniston scared me

yeah, the music doesn't seem to bother people. I think gratuitous bullshit just gets to me - I couldn't stand the narration on Arrested Development at first, though where that element turned out to be pretty key, this show's music just seems clumsy - as does the staging. 30 rock has such a great cast and good jokes that it sucks the production feels so slapdash. Every NBC show looks like shit now, though.

I think the 30 Rock musical score would bother me if I hadn't heard the Curb Your Enthusiasm musical score first.

It was okay, I guess. The "Night Court" sub-plot did nothing for me though.

i got no problem with the music. it's very... TV... which is what the show is going for

yeah...i'm trying to think what the most likely alternatives would be (generic guitar rock, Scrubs-style manic percussion, silence) and none of them seem preferable.
