ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Friday, 9 July 2010 19:29 (fifteen years ago)

even if it was pronounced kind of like the other way, we're not british so there wouldn't be any surprise 'R' sounds

mh, Friday, 9 July 2010 19:32 (fifteen years ago)

I think what freaks me out most about this arc is that all the characters have different physiology now that they're naked. Ray & Beef are often unclothed but they look like bean-shaped cartoon cats. Nice Pete, Téodor, and this new cat all have people bodies (or bad furry porn bodies).

Florian Wimpissinger, an Austrian urologist (Abbott), Sunday, 11 July 2010 01:09 (fifteen years ago)

i feel like we've seen téodor naked before

This really fucks with me.

Téodor has been naked before, but in the latest strip he suddenly has, like, arm muscle definition & flab distributed in a non-cartoony way.

Florian Wimpissinger, an Austrian urologist (Abbott), Sunday, 11 July 2010 01:14 (fifteen years ago)

I hold on to some vague hope that this arc is all about Teodor discovering his true sexuality (hasn't he always been really frustrated w/women?). then hilarious hijinks with Pat and Rod will ensue and we can all go home happy.

bug holocaust (sleeve), Sunday, 11 July 2010 01:31 (fifteen years ago)

Abbott, did you see the metatext on the 5/26 strip? "You have to look pretty close to see his dock-tail scar surgery. We don't show it, here."

This storyline has been going for two months now. I think whoever said Onstad was trolling had it right.

Before I scrolled down on today's comic I thought he just dropped the Nice Pete/Teodor arc. That would have ruled.

Ryan, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 14:13 (fifteen years ago)

See panels 4 and 5 of that are 90% of what I come back to this thing for

tomas altbrolin (DJ Mencap), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 14:46 (fifteen years ago)

only way to save this is if Beef kills Nice Pete

8o---e*.\\\||///.*ə---o8 (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 15:02 (fifteen years ago)

I see that Beef has said some sort of codephrase to Emeril. This bodes well.

turtles all the way down (mh), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 15:26 (fifteen years ago)

the burger math panel is excellent though took a little too long to parse

thomp, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 16:08 (fifteen years ago)

Emeril is such a non-character, but after the last few strips this one is like that first breath of fresh air after a diving accident. Beef ftw.

Wild guess: Rolling into Emeril as future main character like Beef was years and years ago? Nah probably not.

I don't know if this is lolz or just relief that the last arc is over

It's not over. He said he was taking a week away from it to do the Roomba Kane thing.

My totem animal is a hamburger. (WmC), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 00:39 (fifteen years ago)

He must see something in it that I'm totally missing.

Mordy, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 00:41 (fifteen years ago)

i hate to be that guy but he has a hell of a nerve asking for donations while doing less than 1 strip/week

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 01:07 (fifteen years ago)

No, I'm with you on that. I've thought about donating or subscribing to the premium content, but if I do it now while he's holding the strip hostage, then the comics-terrorists win.

My totem animal is a hamburger. (WmC), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 01:11 (fifteen years ago)

i get the impression he's not in a great place at the moment... that roomba strip is excellent though.

Beef, apparently proving that keeping it real is the best plan.

Sauvignon Blanc Mange (B.L.A.M.), Friday, 1 October 2010 17:25 (fifteen years ago)

2 weeks with no updates -- kinda feels like this really could be the end of the road -- although maybe I'm just saying that because "EVERYBODY OUT! HIGH SCHOOL IS OVER!" would make a fitting epitaph for the comic

rmde and dangerous (bernard snowy), Friday, 15 October 2010 11:51 (fifteen years ago)

Argh, I've just remembered the dream I was having last night in which Achewood had to finish because Chris Onstad ran out of money! The very last page just said something like "Sorry, that's it!"

Is the premium section still active? I guess I can't resent him for wanting it to be a money-making venture, but it's a shame that the downsizing of the free strip coincided with a low point in terms of quality.
