Imagine Bono yodelling.
― Mark G, Monday, 10 November 2008 15:47 (seventeen years ago)
come on it's better than that!
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 15:50 (seventeen years ago)
the video is pretty hilarious though
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 15:51 (seventeen years ago)
you can almost smell bono's armpit as he sings his heart out in an industrial wasteland
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 15:52 (seventeen years ago)
btw, yes, if no one else wants the tv and dvd player, i will gladly accept both as a donation to my school! maybe i can pick them up on wednesday, if i go to ddpp?
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 15:59 (seventeen years ago)
oh yeah, i know that song, pretty cool guitar part by "the edge" there
sounds good, amanda ... you're going to be driving, right? because the tv is pretty heavy.
― metametadata (n/a), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:02 (seventeen years ago)
I have been thinking about getting a small TV for my bedroom. Not that I want Nick's, I'm just saying that that's what I've been thinking.
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:04 (seventeen years ago)
You thinking about getting a small TV?
No, I know I'm gonna get a small TV; I'm thinking about poon-tang!
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:05 (seventeen years ago)
lol
― Your original display name will be displayed in brackets. (dan m), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:05 (seventeen years ago)
I know the Laura Branigan and Patti Smith songs.
― jaymc, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:06 (seventeen years ago)
yeah, i'll drive if i come to pick up a tv.
i wonder how many hundreds of videos there are that could be described this way: "...sings his heart out in an industrial wasteland"
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:08 (seventeen years ago)
...and the ensuing discussion on ILM of whether or not the guy is really singing his heart out or not
What I want to know is, how did this girl know you were older? I mean, you don't look your age. Was Maggie singing obscure late '70s country songs again?
― jaymc, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)
she was, and i sang rainbow so i guess that didn't help, but i have no idea how she knew we were older or why she thought it was necessary to mention it out loud
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:10 (seventeen years ago)
because she's a bitch amirite
― Your original display name will be displayed in brackets. (dan m), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:11 (seventeen years ago)
i stated that earlier i think
― La Lechera, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:11 (seventeen years ago)
speaking of tv has anyone bothered to get a digital converter yet?
― Jordan, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:13 (seventeen years ago)
I don't think I have to since my TV is HD.... The local Fox affiliate is running 2 tests this Thursday (6:53 a.m. and 5:23 p.m.) to help viewers in determining if their TVs are ready. If you see regular programming with a crawler, you're fine; if you see only a message on the screen saying something, you're not fine. If plegm and other humours begin to ooze from you're TV, you have a poltergeist.
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)
oh the FF's radio performance from Saturday is streamable here: http://airplay.wnur.org/performances/. I think it turned out pretty well despite me breaking two strings and ben breaking his snare during our set.
― metametadata (n/a), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:24 (seventeen years ago)
Yay! I'm so glad you can take the tv and dvd player, Amanda! Also, good job cleaning up and throwing out crap. PAT ON BACK TO YOU.
My boss left for a loooong meeting this morning. :-D
― KitCat, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:27 (seventeen years ago)
wow ben must have been amped
― Jordan, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)
ha ha, actually just the snares came off the bottom of the drum, but we couldn't find a screwdriver for him to reattach them, so he tried just duct-taping the snares back on, which didn't exactly work
― metametadata (n/a), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:31 (seventeen years ago)
yeah, that is the worst thing when it happens.
― Jordan, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:33 (seventeen years ago)
It's important to learn from incidents like this one, so in the future Ben will be taking a backup drum set with us in the car to all our shows.
― KitCat, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:35 (seventeen years ago)
.. or a screwdriver.
or some coco pops to put inside the snare. (tip)
― Mark G, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:37 (seventeen years ago)
or put a tambourine on top of the snare in a pinch.
― Jordan, Monday, 10 November 2008 16:41 (seventeen years ago)
Tambourines are your answer to everything.
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Monday, 10 November 2008 17:05 (seventeen years ago)
guilty
― Jordan, Monday, 10 November 2008 17:07 (seventeen years ago)

I applied for another position too, and the manager who almost-but-didn't-quite hire me said she'd put in a good word.
― Your original display name will be displayed in brackets. (dan m), Monday, 10 November 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

― Eazy, Monday, 10 November 2008 20:45 (seventeen years ago)
Vastly hilariouser and thus superior Laura Branigan song:
― tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 00:49 (seventeen years ago)
Whoa. I missed the lesbo implications in this video the first time around.
― tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 00:50 (seventeen years ago)
Huh. Laura Branigan is dead.
― tit deep in abomination (Jenny), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 00:54 (seventeen years ago)
Probably from lesbo implications.
Wait. You have Flash on your computer now? !
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:21 (seventeen years ago)
Oh. "(2 hours ago)"
I guess you weren't at work at 7:22.
You really must find a way to get Flash installed on your work computer.
The best thing about that song is the guitar in the chorus wang-a-wanga-wang-wang.
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:25 (seventeen years ago)
jordan (and anyone else who cares): stella is performing in chicago on fri. dec. 5. sarah and i already got tickets.
― metametadata (n/a), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 16:22 (seventeen years ago)
oh interesting. where is it?
at rehearsal the other day we were reminiscing about michael ian black's last show here, where he had the crowd rolling for 10 minutes without saying a word. he was just using a hand to represent the motions of his anal sphincter after eating at a certain local taco place the year before.
― Jordan, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 16:57 (seventeen years ago)
that sounds pretty funny
― Your original display name will be displayed in brackets. (dan m), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 16:57 (seventeen years ago)

― metametadata (n/a), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 16:59 (seventeen years ago)
how much were your tickets?
― Jordan, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 17:03 (seventeen years ago)
From a deposition I just read:
Attorney: Did you have sex with __________?Female witness: I don't know. I'd have to ask him.
― another regrettable cheesesteak (Jesse), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 17:04 (seventeen years ago)
tickets are listed at $28 each but after charges they're more like $40, and that's for the ones where you print them out online
