upon some thought, left feeling kind of cold by iphone 4. speed is not *that* much faster than the 3GS, new screen is obv. great but I don't really need a better camera or two cameras for that matter. design is pretty but I dunno if I could justify forking out $600 on it instead of say, an iPad.

not really getting the instructions for installing iOS4 on a 3G up there

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Sunday, 27 June 2010 20:14 (sixteen years ago)

me either, but for what it's worth; after i read those instructions i rebooted my phone, and it did take care of most of the lag i was experiencing.

Is there any way to script things on the iPhone; eg. turn on WIFI by location or time, launch certain apps at certain times?

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Wednesday, 30 June 2010 17:54 (sixteen years ago)

puzzle quest on an iphone is the best unintentional argument for 3.3.1 and against multi-platform development ive ever seen

made it out to an apple store and played with one - pretty nice, but not nice enough to make me drop $400+ to upgrade

Er suddenly Instapaper won't load any articles for me. iOS4 and 3GS. I choose an article and just get a dark gray page with the spinning progress wheel.

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:37 (fifteen years ago)

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:38 (fifteen years ago)

believe me, it's killing me

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:38 (fifteen years ago)

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:43 (fifteen years ago)

i dont get how the os broke it. i mean, i dont know shit about programming, but it doesnt seem like anything new in ios4 has anything to do with what drop7 does. u know?

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:43 (fifteen years ago)

i miss it. i miss drop7

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:44 (fifteen years ago)

i'll have to check er out, is there a demo version?

ᶠᵧᶸₒᶜᵤᵏ (LOLK), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 14:59 (fifteen years ago)

good but not nearly as crackdictive

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 15:04 (fifteen years ago)

hm I never really got that into drop7. I guess it was a bit too random - since you never know what's in the gray balls it's harder to set up combos and stuff

like a ◴ ◷ ◶ (dyao), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 15:06 (fifteen years ago)

that's part of the fun

u never know what's coming

young werther's originals (s1ocki), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 15:07 (fifteen years ago)

it's pretty fun until what's coming is a row full of 1's :(((

From the iOS 4 Readiness Checklist that apple sent me, they're only saying that existing apps built with 3.1.3 should work fine with iOS4 without modification. So, maybe Drop7 was never built with the 3.1.3 tools, and there's something glitchy in there from a previous build. Plus there's the confidence inspiring "should"... Anyway, I haven't tested my app against OS4, I figure customers will let me know if it doesn't work...

CraigG, Wednesday, 7 July 2010 16:10 (fifteen years ago)

Has anyone had the issue where applications that have Send an Email functionality built in are not actually sending an email but just putting it in your outbox? You have to go into mail and hit send. This is driving me crazy.

Jeff, Wednesday, 7 July 2010 16:43 (fifteen years ago)

4 changed a load of graphics and sound stuff. If drop7 had been doing funky stuff that'd could have turned it into a crashed.

stet, Wednesday, 7 July 2010 16:55 (fifteen years ago)

deleted app, redownloaded - Instapaper works fine now :D

progressive cuts (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 7 July 2010 16:58 (fifteen years ago)
