David Haye vs Jean-Marc Mormeck for the WBA and WBC cruiserweight titles is on setanta now live from Paris.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

Is there anywhere to stream this online? Haye's my boy.

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

Got 5live commentary.

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

I don't watch (listen to) Haye fights to see him play the fucking stamina game..

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:12 (eighteen years ago)

Haye dropped in the fourth!

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

Haye KO R7

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:27 (eighteen years ago)

A cracking punch to finish it. He's relinquishing the belts though, so no fight with Enzo unless its at heavyweight and enzo isn't anywhere near a heavyweight yet so I guess that fights a few years away.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 10 November 2007 21:48 (eighteen years ago)

Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto on Setanta at 3am tonight. Worth staying up late?

Totally psyched for this.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 16:31 (eighteen years ago)

I'm gonna eat a shitload of fried food over the next few days in tribute to Ricky.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

Hatton KO/TKO @ 4/1 is tempting, though my heart might be ruling my head here.

onimo, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

Not paying £16 for it. I guess 5 Live will have to do.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:13 (eighteen years ago)

I feel sorry for Ali though, he put all that time and effort into his little rhymes, his little speeches, his interviews, and yet his entire spoken word output has basically been blown out of the water by the majesty of "Will you stop touching me knee you poof?"

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

I for one am looking forward to Mayweather's destruction of Hatton.

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

There is no way in hell you could get me to pay for this one.

Ricky the Hugman Hatton vs. a defensive boxer whose last five or six fights have all been dull.

milo z, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

Mayweather isn't really about destroying anybody, least of all Hatton.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

I know, but a guy can dream

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

Then again, he did kick the shit out of Arturo Gatti.

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

I reckon if it goes the distance, Mayweather wins. Which is why it should be a great fight, cos Hatton ought to realise that too.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

Mayweather by KO 5 to 1? Can that be right? I'd be all over that, had I any monies.

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 7 December 2007 13:38 (eighteen years ago)

Amir Khan fight is on ITV in a few minutes. I still can't get used to Stewpot from Grange Hill being master of ceremonies though.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 8 December 2007 22:06 (eighteen years ago)

do we know when sky are showing it on non-PPV? I'm so knackered there's no way I'll stay up for it, and I'm buggered if I'm paying 16 quid for it so it's a Likely Lads scenario for me..... if they're not showing it too late.

Porkpie, Saturday, 8 December 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

Khan wins in 1st round. And the ref shoulda stopped it about 10 seconds earlier as he wasn't fighting back. Earl was clearly a finished fighter who should never have been fighting Khan.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 8 December 2007 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not paying £16 either for the Hatton. I'll just check the result in the morning.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 8 December 2007 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

The Khan fight lasted 72 seconds. He will never have an easier fight.

Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 8 December 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

"ricky hatton is the underdog, so you've gotta make him favourite" - every english sports pundit over past week

Just got offed, Sunday, 9 December 2007 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

why do we boo opposition anthems? what is wrong with us?

anyway, here goes

Just got offed, Sunday, 9 December 2007 04:50 (eighteen years ago)

not watching this. this will not end well. if hatton wins by miracle of god or assassins' bullet then it will be the greatest upset of all time

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Sunday, 9 December 2007 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

mayweather, of course, is winning convincingly so far (according to the radio)

Just got offed, Sunday, 9 December 2007 04:56 (eighteen years ago)

If the loser's plucky, we blame the ref. If the loser isn't plucky, we character-assassinate him. Fortunately for Ricky Hatton, he's plucky.

Just got offed, Sunday, 9 December 2007 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

lol hatton, lol hype, lol media, lol wanko ergo sum

calzaghe for SPOTY

Just got offed, Sunday, 9 December 2007 05:28 (eighteen years ago)

Hatton is a chump

Mr. Goodman, Sunday, 9 December 2007 05:31 (eighteen years ago)

USA!!! USA!!!

lol dat limey nigga got his fucken ass kicked... after watching all of 24/7 the other night i knew that there was no way mayweather would lose~~~

on tha real tho that was a tyte fite imho. i was impressed as shit by how mayweather adapted and came out of his shell. he stepped the fuck up instead of just doing enough to get by~~

cankles, Sunday, 9 December 2007 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

Not a surprise. Maybe he shouldn't have stepped up a weight.
x-post

Herman G. Neuname, Sunday, 9 December 2007 05:56 (eighteen years ago)

happy to see hatton hit the canvas. mayweather was mostly dominating that shit though, would've won the decision.

johnny crunch, Sunday, 9 December 2007 06:03 (eighteen years ago)

Great fight. I thought Mayweather was technically superior to De La Hoya without really killing him, but tonight he was impressive as fuck. I'd've scored him at least 6-2 up before he stopped it but really...admire Hatton's balls and he gave good post-bout interview but you could see in him that he knew he'd been well beaten.

milo z, Sunday, 9 December 2007 08:01 (eighteen years ago)

oof, that looks nasty.

Listened to radio from round 4 onwards and it sounded like Hatton got a lesson or two, possibly the most important one being that he may have the bollocks but he doesn't have the power to step up a weight.

Mayweather had been thoroughly twattish in the whole run-up, then in th epost fight interview seemed thoroughly decent.

Porkpie, Sunday, 9 December 2007 09:20 (eighteen years ago)

Great year for British sport

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 9 December 2007 10:53 (eighteen years ago)

God knows what he's gonna do now, Junior Witter's not exactly gonna get him a £10million purse.

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 9 December 2007 10:58 (eighteen years ago)

Hatton vs De La Hoya retirement fund-raiser in the New Year.

onimo, Sunday, 9 December 2007 11:53 (eighteen years ago)

Ah, I don't see that Ricky's got many places to go now bar the De La Hoya exhibition bout. S'pose it's too much to expect he just retires with dignity tho.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 9 December 2007 12:29 (eighteen years ago)

The worst of this is that Hamilton is now a shoe-in for a Sports Bottler of the Year Award tonight.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 9 December 2007 12:30 (eighteen years ago)

Mayweather had been thoroughly twattish in the whole run-up, then in th epost fight interview seemed thoroughly decent.

...whereas Hatton came across afterwards as mealy-mouthed and cocky.

By the way, who was the old guy doing the interviews immediately after the fight, an old guy with white hair? What a pro!

Daniel Giraffe, Sunday, 9 December 2007 12:34 (eighteen years ago)

Larry Merchant?
