Ok, what did you guys order at Drink and at CCC?

So at Drink we each had two. I asked for something refreshing, citrusy and floral. The first was a Bees Knees (gin, lemon juice, honey and lavender). It was incredible. The second, while good, was not as amazing but was also a citrus flavored gin drink. I don't remember the specifics. I'll let the others tell you what they had but I will say that CAD's second drink was probably the best cocktail I've ever tasted and I really hope he remembers what was in it.

At CCC we ordered a bunch of appetizer combo things and main dishes to share. I only remember the veggie fried rice and eggplant and garlic because I don't eat meat but they can fill you in on the rest. It was actually the best Chinese food I have ever had tbh. Most standard chinese places suck imo and this was a v pleasant surprise.

Oh and I don't think your friend was working. There was one woman tending bar but she def didn't look like Elijah Wood in LoTR.

At Drink I asked for something light and lemony and I got the best Tom Collins I ever had.

my first cocktail at drink was a tequila/mezcal old fashioned with agave nectar, angostura aromatic and orange bitters, and a grapefruit twist. second drunk was good enough for me to ask how to make it:

1.25 oz. dark rum (old monk)
.75 oz. lime juice
.5 oz. sloe gin
.5 oz. apricot liqueur
.25 oz. cinnamon syrup

my gf's second drink was awesome too: tequila, lime, strawberry puree, black pepper

I have a brain like a sieve and I didn't actually eat lunch on Wednesday (!) so I don't remember what drinks I got aside from them both having gin in them. They were fucking tasty.

Then we went to The Good Life and I drank Sam Adams Summer Brew, ha. I was going to continue boozing at CCC but a) no one else was; b) it was Wednesday; c) the tiny part of my brain that wasn't leaping over the freefall precipice of "wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee drinking!" was the part that contains all of my sense and doesn't like looking like an alcoholic.

The water I had was pretty dope iirc — to "make" it, all you need to do is turn on the sink, and preferably refrigerate it for a bit if you want it cold. Also, the leftover (white and vegetarian fried) rice -- thanks for the leftovers, btw, all -- made a nice lunch yesterday.

Hate to say it but Weirdo Records has totally made Twisted Village irrelevant for me lately. Much better stock and selection, plus Angela who runs the place is awesome and has got one of the widest wells of outsider music knowledge you could ever hope for.

Not that it was a competition, since Angela used to work at TV, but you'd figure with two experimental music stores in one metro area, only one was going to survive.
