How was Gossip Girl? I thought about watching it, but I figured I already have too many shows to watch each week.

I didn't see that, but did watch the premiere of ANTM, which featured Tyra getting a faux "kitty cat wax" by one of the contestants.

Horshoe started a Gossip Girl thread last night. I saw the first half of it (at the gym) and thought it was pretty well done. A lot of location shooting in NYC (on the steps of the Met, etc.).

Horseshoe, I mean! Sarah, I'm afraid to ask what that wax entailed...

Well, the model was saying she's a bikini waxer back home, so Tyra asked her to demonstrate on her (fully clothed, but still completely ridiculous).

Last night I got hypnotized by bad tv for hours. Can't remember the last time I watched so much broadcast television at once. I even saw some of ANTP. At least I got my laundry done. And at least I got to see Kitchen Nightmares.

But I'm starting to think King of Queens maybe isn't terrible, and I used to hate that show. :( :(

the nanda davi story has been covered a lot in climbing mags. apparently they've done follow up testing and found trace radioactivity in the rivers, which could only have come from the nuclear device or something like it.

Dudes - do any of you use "ditty bags" or whatever the man term is for make up bags? If so, what is the best style? My dad wants me to make him one for his birthday & I think I'm going to have to invent the pattern . . .

Shaving Kit.

Dark colors are nice.

I thought I would definitely use a dark color . . . but what kind of fabric? Corduroy seems nice but then it also tends to pick up bits of lint & string. Do I need to vinyl-ize a cotton?

And the little medallion as a centerpiece is nice. That's the standard shape of a shaving kit, I think. Cordouroy sounds good.

I think I would maybe make some kind of patch with dad's initials on it or something.

Just a suggestion -- you might want to use a material that can stand a little moisture, since most dudes are not going to be too meticulous about drying stuff off before tossing it in the case. High leakage potential.

I used to have a black plastic toiletry bag emblazoned with the logo of my high school's production of Guys and Dolls, but it got kind of gross and I threw it out a few years ago.

I use a vinyl one for my glasses and contact-lens case when traveling.

I've owned one for thirteen years, but never called it anything but a shaving kit. Never heard Dopp Kit before.

I only use mine when traveling as well.
