the strike sapped her idealism

Jordan, Friday, 11 April 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

for a slightly strike-themed episode, it was alright, but isn't surivvor really old-hat now? it seemed like an episode that had falled out of time from 2002.

akm, Friday, 11 April 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

Milf Island was just a carry over from one of the earlier episodes this season, and the clips actually had some funny moments I thought.

Even better was the fart machine sketch with Tracy, though.

lol "meert"

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Friday, 11 April 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

this felt a bit gimmicky (sort of like Seinfeldvision) but it was pretty good for a lets-get-the-writing-wheels-back-in-motion episode. i did love the cathy joke and "fortified with optimism".

WORK MADE ME MISS THIS :(

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Friday, 18 April 2008 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

So I'm living on Netflix time and only eight episodes into the first season, but holy shit...Did this show totally jump the shark after the hilarious pilot, or what? Does it get better later? I hope so. When does Tracy Morgan actually start being funny?

xhuxk, Friday, 18 April 2008 02:35 (eighteen years ago)

Chuck, if you need undeniably funny TM, the episode with him & Jack @ the country club is it. That said, if you think the pilot was the high point, you're going to find some, um, mild dissent over here.

David R., Friday, 18 April 2008 02:37 (eighteen years ago)

I love Dennis.

Nicole, Friday, 18 April 2008 02:42 (eighteen years ago)

I probably would have dated him because of the "The Hours? More like the Weeks!" comment as well, I've never really had great judgment.

Nicole, Friday, 18 April 2008 02:44 (eighteen years ago)

"uh, let's run around in circles so we can live longer"

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Friday, 18 April 2008 13:06 (eighteen years ago)

Where was that??!?

You guys know Dennis has / had a reoccuring role on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, right?

David R., Friday, 18 April 2008 13:09 (eighteen years ago)

I've never really liked Tim Conway and at first I thought his character was just another snide takeoff of Studio 60, but he really had some great deadpan lines.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 18 April 2008 13:10 (eighteen years ago)

If they're still trying to take shots @ a show that's long gone, they need to buy new issues of TV Guide.

(something about "men celebrating each other's strength" and saluting goes here)

David R., Friday, 18 April 2008 13:22 (eighteen years ago)

I tried watching that show a couple of times and whenever I saw Dennis I just couldn't take it seriously. I kept waiting for him to try to hook up with underage robot girl.

Nicole, Friday, 18 April 2008 13:54 (eighteen years ago)

"I knew that girl was 18. She told me her last boyfriend was Asian, and that crap doesn't start until college."

I LOVE STATE'S RIGHTS!

caek, Friday, 18 April 2008 20:51 (eighteen years ago)

This was a really good episode, although the side-plot with Kenneth showing round that old guy was not funny.

Dennis is so great.

caek, Friday, 18 April 2008 20:53 (eighteen years ago)

Jack: That's a sharp tie you've got there Dennis.
Dennis: That douchebag up front made me wear it.
Jack: Does he know you're the Beeper King?
Dennis: I don't think so.
Liz: This is clearly the nicest restaurant we've ever been to.
Dennis: Hold on a second, this place ain't that nice, alright. It's got rats and roaches like every other restaurant.
Liz: No rat talk tonight, okay.
Dennis: (to Jack) You know there are 17 million rats per person in Manhattan. You eat a pound of rat crap every year without even knowing it, huh?
Jack: I think I read about that in The New Yorker. (pause) Um, anyway, we'll leave you two to your meal. I hope you enjoy the choices that you've made.

caek, Friday, 18 April 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

"that old guy" is Dorf. Show some respect.

mizzell, Friday, 18 April 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

OK, I guess that's a US pop culture reference I'm never going to get.
