sher

plax (ico), Sunday, 13 June 2010 18:00 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't see Sally O'Brien, I was too busy frying eggs, thousands of them, for in Ireland, unlike the Iberian peninsula, eggs are plentiful.

Disgusted to find out she's a Brit. What would my great great great grandfather, John Kerry Regan of Ballyghadoreen, County Roscommon, say?

max, Sunday, 13 June 2010 18:02 (fifteen years ago)

ah sher this is it, i'll be dead now in a minute. mad altogether.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 13 June 2010 18:02 (fifteen years ago)

Fierce.

seandalai, Sunday, 13 June 2010 20:42 (fifteen years ago)

My strongest memories of distinctively Irish ads involve the president of the IFA or someone monotoning about brucellosis and vaccinating your cows or somewhat. YouTube knows nothing.

seandalai, Monday, 14 June 2010 02:25 (fifteen years ago)

cailini deas in shawls getting all moony eyed over a fucking cup a soup.

is this what john o'leary wanted for us?

May be half naked, but knows a good headline when he sees it (darraghmac), Monday, 14 June 2010 02:28 (fifteen years ago)

i was thinking about it, and as far as i can tell, pound for pound, ireland has produced better ilx posters than any other nation

max, Monday, 14 June 2010 02:33 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno if they have a statistically significant number of ilx posters though

harbl, Monday, 14 June 2010 03:06 (fifteen years ago)

cant believe you sb'd me for that (darraghmac), Sunday, 17 October 2010 22:29 (fifteen years ago)

I just love how the mother in the Kerrygold ad clearly hates the German wagon who stole her son away. In her own head she is a wronged woman who gave him everything, everything, only for him to become bewitched by some flaxen-haired temptress from another country and leave his only home. In his head she is a nagging old biddy who is never happy about anything and he couldn't wait to get away from her. It's the oldest story we have.

trishyb, Sunday, 17 October 2010 23:30 (fifteen years ago)

sally o'brien gutted too

cant believe you sb'd me for that (darraghmac), Sunday, 17 October 2010 23:35 (fifteen years ago)

this thread breaks my heart because it is impossible to find the breakfast time back home ad

plax (ico), Sunday, 27 March 2011 01:47 (fifteen years ago)

this is maybe the pinnacle of these ads

plax (ico), Sunday, 27 March 2011 01:47 (fifteen years ago)

Cannot believe that's not on youtube. Travesty.

Number None, Sunday, 27 March 2011 09:22 (fifteen years ago)

its kindof like never gonna happen now i think. like we've reached the end point of people still watching movies taped off the telly years ago so you're not gonna start lolling over a "this madness must end sooun" and wanna upload it y'know?

plax (ico), Sunday, 27 March 2011 11:36 (fifteen years ago)

whats the point of the fucking internet. so appalled.

the salmon of procrastination (darraghmac), Sunday, 27 March 2011 13:09 (fifteen years ago)

there's some brand of bog roll that used to pride itself on its irishness on the wrapper? always used to make me chuckle

a SB-in' artist that been in the game for a minute (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 27 March 2011 13:20 (fifteen years ago)

loudmouth darraghmac ween (darraghmac), Thursday, 5 January 2017 20:56 (nine years ago)

reminds me of the carbon monoxide it IS the silent killer ad. my friend got a photo with that old guy.

that dublin bus thing tho - it is fucking hilariously bad.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:08 (nine years ago)

most of the advert is just low budget a little bit bad but the lad in the costume dancing like a wounded Bez, wtf is that about?

Rock Wokeman (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:10 (nine years ago)

like they didn't have time for a second take even?

Rock Wokeman (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:11 (nine years ago)

yeah like it's beyond just low budget and more into "we gave two guys 15 minutes to do this"

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:14 (nine years ago)

WHAT THEN

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:14 (nine years ago)

plus surely the audience for this bus aren't likely to be people who live locally enough to be watching that ad?

Rock Wokeman (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:17 (nine years ago)

I actually know a genuine ghost bus ghost irl. Keeps offering me a free ticket but I've yet to take him up on it

Apparently the tour itself is pretty decent though

Number None, Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:19 (nine years ago)

i was hoping this lad had done a TV advert

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3yBzGJKyJc

but it doesn't look like it

Rock Wokeman (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 January 2017 21:19 (nine years ago)

i'd voice that for them for a tenner. in one take.

xpost i was kind of always curious about the tour, like i bet dublin has some interesting history you could tie into something like that.
