That article annoyed me. I was disappointed with (a few) aspects of the finale but don't feel betrayed or tricked or condescended to. That's kind of silly.
― Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 31 May 2010 00:45 (sixteen years ago)
I definitely feel condescended to... oh wait is that a Chuck E Cheese over there?
― bug holocaust (sleeve), Monday, 31 May 2010 00:52 (sixteen years ago)
I think it's absolutely OTM. I mean, how can you not feel condescended to by the whole "OH LOOK, A CHUCK E CHEESE" thing?
lol xp
― JimD, Monday, 31 May 2010 01:00 (sixteen years ago)
thought the article was great. some of the more articulated, on point criticisms of the finale/series i've seen yet
― underwater, please (bear, bear, bear), Monday, 31 May 2010 01:06 (sixteen years ago)

I couldn't agree more with that article. And it pointed me towards the fine brothers videos, some of which had me laughing out loud. Walt!!!!!! Korean Korean!!!!

― it takes a lot to laugh, it takes a crane shot to 'NOOOOOO' (Jon Lewis), Wednesday, 2 June 2010 16:00 (sixteen years ago)
awesome! at first i thought you meant she was a caption contest winner, but this is whole 'nother level awesome. i was total newyorker cartoonist fanboy as a kid.
― scott seward, Wednesday, 2 June 2010 16:30 (sixteen years ago)
When she goes in to pitch the magaizine new pieces, she has lunch afterward with Sam Gross and all the other old grouchy NYC/Long Island NYer cartoonists. So cool.
― it takes a lot to laugh, it takes a crane shot to 'NOOOOOO' (Jon Lewis), Wednesday, 2 June 2010 16:49 (sixteen years ago)
i met sam gross once. he got cigar ashes in the book i asked him to sign. knew some of the people who lived in connecticut. my brother would hang with them. roz. ziegler. others. good folks.
― scott seward, Wednesday, 2 June 2010 21:01 (sixteen years ago)
I rly need to go with her one of these times so I can meet all those dudes. (Roz does not come in to pitch in person anymore apparently). Does Dan Bunny draw?
― it takes a lot to laugh, it takes a crane shot to 'NOOOOOO' (Jon Lewis), Wednesday, 2 June 2010 21:03 (sixteen years ago)
he does draw, but they dug him cuz he's crazy. jack z. did the cover of bunnybrains album on matador. always thought far side dude got his whole act from jack z. well, jack z. and kliban.
― scott seward, Wednesday, 2 June 2010 21:42 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah esp Kliban. As famous as 'Cat' is, those other Kliban books warped and guided my brain severely when I was like 8 years old.

2 months after the fact. I hardly ever think about it any more. The journey was fun, but we ended up in church. Oh well, we can leave and never have to return.
― nickn, Friday, 23 July 2010 08:35 (fifteen years ago)
for me, the series "ended" w/ the Jacob/MIB origin story, compounded by the "Chucky Cheese" quip. Everything after that was just coasting toward the inevitable & I honestly just did not give a fuck anymore.
― the new hot dawg stand in compton (Pillbox), Friday, 23 July 2010 09:19 (fifteen years ago)
I starting watching this from the start with my sons recently. I forgot how much I loved early Lost - John Locke is just fucking great right from the off.
The kids are loving every minute of it and demanding to watch a new episode every night. Last night we stayed up late for the Season One finale - MOI BOIBEE!!!/WWWWAAAALLLLTTT!!!!/STOP, THE NUMBERS ARE BAD!!!!
Much less of Smokey in the first season than I remember - kills the pilot, faces down Locke, makes the odd noise, tries to drag Locke down a hole. You only really get one glimpse of actual moving sentient smoke.
Can't wait for the Season Two opener.

on hulu, if you play the finale, it loops back onto the pilot episode. one thing i noticed in the pilot was a lot less talking!
