The Jonas Brothers doing a meet-and-greet type thing with about 50 high school girls at the delivery entrance to the Warner Theater in DC. Viewed from my office window at 8 am this morning. Girls were totally running through traffic to try to keep up with their Escalade when they left.

Otherwise you're kinda being comp-lit in his racism. (kkvgz), Wednesday, 2 June 2010 20:22 (sixteen years ago)

They shot this crappy looking movie at the hospital I work at.

I'm quite fond of Haunch Of Venison Yard, near where about 3 weeks ago I saw a guy who looked a whole lot like R Crumb.

disastrous sixth series (MaresNest), Wednesday, 9 June 2010 22:41 (sixteen years ago)

There are gazillions of telly trucks over at Great Ormond Street right now because that's where they took the fox-mauled twins. No kid getting treatment is more depressing than watching patients at the neurological hospital on Queen Square having a fag in their tracksuits, while rocking an IV stand.

I live a block away from all of this but on the plus side, the pharmacy at the homeopathic hospital is a cheaper Holland and Barrett and the tiny coffee shop across from GOSH is the best in London.

WHEN CROWS GO BAD (suzy), Wednesday, 9 June 2010 22:56 (sixteen years ago)

And Abeno on Museum St too!

And here's another boring sighting! I saw Jarvis Cocker crossing the road in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. I followed him into a deli where he purchased some pies. Pretty exciting eh?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. What kind of pies? I need to know. JK. That is a good one. I would probably have died a swift fangirl death if I saw him out in public tbh.

o sh!t a ˁ˚ᴥ˚ˀ (ENBB), Friday, 13 August 2010 11:48 (fifteen years ago)

Joek or no, I was interested too. I'm not sure what precise pies he had - he was having a discussion with this other person about how many they had to feed and I felt a little rude trying to eavesdrop, also I had my son standing next to me saying "tell him you prefer the Shatner version of Common People" so I was trying to sush him, but they were from this delicious range - http://www.pieminister.co.uk

Ned Trifle (Notinmyname), Friday, 13 August 2010 11:55 (fifteen years ago)

I was rather trying to think of something to say to him that didn't sound too much of a cliche and which he might have appreciated. And about ten minutes after he had gone I suddenly remembered this...

http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-events-sounds/

I bet no-one asks him about that. I would have looked super cool.

Ned Trifle (Notinmyname), Friday, 13 August 2010 12:00 (fifteen years ago)

He is generally very kind to people who approach him - even if they're drunks in Soho at 2am.

duchy of Pornwall (suzy), Friday, 13 August 2010 12:03 (fifteen years ago)

Esp. if they come bearing pies

tom d: he did what he had to do now he is dead (Tom D.), Friday, 13 August 2010 12:04 (fifteen years ago)

I had to mediate an art talk between Jarv and one other at the Tate; afterwards the Talks woman took all of us to dinner. We decided to carry on afterward and made our way to Dean Street from the restaurant in Lexington Street and Jarvis was apprehended so often it was like watching a politician making his way down a rope line...entirely filled with drunks. We didn't want a posher version of same so we swerved the Groucho for Jerry's Theatre Bar and a Bontempi organ where Jarvis wound up leading the room's singalong to Andy Williams tracks.

duchy of Pornwall (suzy), Friday, 13 August 2010 12:11 (fifteen years ago)
