Definitely thinking these dudes stepped into a car Keyser Soze-style a few hours ago and will never show their faces in public again.

also, people died! mikhail and keamy. you can't have a heaven/purgatory where people die. like how boone dying proved the island wasn't purgatory, remember?

the alt was really just an extended exercise in fan fiction.

I don't necessarily mind what they did with the sideways reality, but I do mind that they took half the final season to do it, seeing as in the end it turns out to have absolutely no bearing on anything unfolding on the island. Like, you could have done this whole 'afterlife as departure lounge where people let go of their shit' with the characters of any show, it didn't play into the weave of the show at all.

All this season it's seemed like when everyone in the alt 'awoke' to their relationships to one another there would be some alchemical reaction with events on the island, but instead... yeah.

I think the point of that was just that they decided years ago that the final scene would be Jack dying while on the ground of the island looking up a la the pilot opening scene but figured out most of the stuff in between while breaking this season.

they pushed a few emotional buttons in this very well, banked heavily on people giving into their feelings for the characters and turning off their brains.

end party in heaven and alt-timeline were different places/times, right?

Yeah, tbh, I was way more intrigued by the island's mythology for the whole season (or really that last few seasons) than I was the individual crash survivors. They did do a good job of making me remember there was a time I cared about them at all.

So ignoring the whole alt resolution for a moment.

Desmond unplugs cosmic stopper, causing the 'rules' of Jacob/MiB to cease-- so now Jack and Flocke can actually hurt each other. Right? But why does that make Kate now able to kill Flocke with a gun? Did the unplugging cancel out everybody's powers so that Flocke was now just a dude?

it seemed pretty clear to me that yeah, Flocke lost his invincibility/immortality/etc. why would only Jack be able to hurt him and not Kate?

just dropping by to say this was the dumbest conceivable way to end this: poorly structured, badly acted, abysmally written and lacking in interior or any other kind of logic. just sheer horseshit.

I wanted to be sad and to feel those tearful moments, but sadly I didn't. I couldn't stop thinking of how they didn't come thru for me. That most of season 6 and been a let down, and the finale did nothing to remedy that. I'm more sad at the disappointment of Lost that the show being over. For a second I was thinking that Jack would be the new MIB and Hurley the new jacob, which was surprising me and making me happy. But nope everyone's happy and in heaven.

i wasn't really expecting much, i don't think. so, weirdly, i wasn't that disappointed.

I keep thinking of the writers saying in every interview, "We're making the best show we can"

...the alternate timeline where Oceanic 815 didn't crash but landed in LA successfully ACTUALLY is purgatory. Darlton are only on record as denying that Losties pot-crash experience on the island in the original timeline was purgatory.

Ugh. Complete shit. Loosely did the math, that's what, 100 hours I've spent watching this shit, and at least another 200 reading about it, and that's all I get? A dude named Christian Shepherd brings everyone (except the black men) to heaven?

I'm not even blaming the show. I'm just angry with myself.

annoying. they were obviously more interested in tying up the alternate universe story line than addressing ANY of the core mysteries of of the show. which would be okay except they had two or three years there where they knew they were going to end and maybe could have done a better job keeping a handle on things.

I'm happy the dog showed up again though, but that was about it. concert was as horrible as could have been imagined.

That seriously ate my balls.

I don't think that I'm actually mad, just wondering what happened over the last year that made all the stuff I liked about the show not matter to the writers anymore.
