Treacle.

what a shit finale. nothing answered and the x timeline was pointless
― abanana, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:32 (sixteen years ago)
sucks for Michael and Walt that they didn't make it into heaven
― congratulations (n/a), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:33 (sixteen years ago)
also LOL at Richard Alpert, a dude from ancient times who has presumably never been in a plane, settling in comfortably, leaning back and closing his eyes for takeoff
― congratulations (n/a), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:34 (sixteen years ago)
really, lost? seriously? so lame.

didn't sayid travel the globe for his beloved. who wasn't shannon. the heart wants what the heart wants.
― scott seward, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:37 (sixteen years ago)
B-/C+ nothing really imaginative, but i feared a bigger fuck-up mess.
I wonder if baby aaron had a flashback to the island where he was a baby.
― |8 l) u_u (bnw), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:38 (sixteen years ago)
if it wasn't on the island and recalled in an oversaturated clip, apparently it didn't matter.
like half of that draggy finale was seriously a clip show.
― s.clover, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:38 (sixteen years ago)
wait, can we spoil here? i forget.
― scott seward, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:38 (sixteen years ago)
as my wife asked, if they "created a world to find each other" or whatever, why were their lives so different? why not create a world where everyone was already with the people they were supposed to be with?
― congratulations (n/a), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:39 (sixteen years ago)
so in heaven/purgatory, why is the island underwater? really pointless nonsense.
― s.clover, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:39 (sixteen years ago)
Best idea for an alternate ending:
RT @KenPlume "So, as Jack lifts off in the helicopter at the end, Hurley has written him a message in rocks on the beach below... "Dude""
― Eighteen straight. I think that's a record. (kenan), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:40 (sixteen years ago)
of course you can spoil, if anyone who hasn't seen it yet clicks on the thread it's their fault
― cutty, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:40 (sixteen years ago)
that's why they were all dead
― cutty, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:41 (sixteen years ago)
Poor Ben, right back to being a miserable suckwad. I had so much hope for Ben awesomeness after the previous episode.
― Frank Viola (╓abies), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:41 (sixteen years ago)
Man, I'm so glad that wasn't a weird deus ex machina.
― mh, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:42 (sixteen years ago)
hahaha, the local ABC affiliate is showing "Living Single" instead of Kimmel. It's an episode that has the guy who played Michael in it, so I thought it was a big elaborate Kimmel sketch at first.
― Grisly Addams (WmC), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:42 (sixteen years ago)
Christian never did enough through six seasons of the show to earn the right to be the big REVEAL character.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:42 (sixteen years ago)
I'm thinking Ben earned that right.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:43 (sixteen years ago)
did anyone call heaven? as a prediction. i don't remember. i hate heaven. gives me the heebie jeebies.
― scott seward, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:43 (sixteen years ago)
Sometimes you gotta create an alternate dimension so you can just hug shit out y'know
― Frank Viola (╓abies), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:43 (sixteen years ago)

My highlight is still the point in the clip show where Evangeline Lilly has a sunburn and keeps saying "aboot." Darn Canadians.
― mh, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:45 (sixteen years ago)
Biggest problem here is that penny was never on the plane or on the island so why the fuck is she in the church
― Fists all gnarly and dick-dented (jjjusten), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:47 (sixteen years ago)
Because Jack met her once? Uh...

Also, it's not really heaven w/o Aquahotties.
xpost Because she looked for the island for years

that's the one thing i have no problem with, coming back to that at the end. Christian walking around the island was literally one of the very first mysteries or unusual things that ever happened on the show and he was around for tons of important moments, made a certain sense. now, what he was revealing...
― every night i tell myself i am the custos, i am the wind. (some dude), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:49 (sixteen years ago)
LOL
Poor Michael and Walt.
― sinister chemical wisdom (Jenny), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:50 (sixteen years ago)
i'm guessing michael and walt weren't in the alternate dimension/heaven party, because they weren't on the island when the h-bomb blew up.
― Creeztophair, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:53 (sixteen years ago)
this actually would've worked for me fine as a season finale, if there was a season 7 in the fall featuring Hurley & Ben's Fantasy Island and a promise to actually resolve some of the show's original mysteries.
― every night i tell myself i am the custos, i am the wind. (some dude), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:54 (sixteen years ago)
the christian reveal was fine, altho they should never have bothered with the whole purgatory shit. and why did his coffin disappear? and if their most important memories were with the people on the island, why didn't the plane crash? etc etc
― abanana, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:54 (sixteen years ago)
Michael and Walt weren't there because one of them is 6 years older than he's supposed to be and one of them bitched to the press about the way his character was written off, no need to formulate any explanation within the show.
― every night i tell myself i am the custos, i am the wind. (some dude), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:55 (sixteen years ago)
they swore that the island wasn't heaven/purgatory back in season 1 so they had to create an alt timeline to be heaven/purgatory
cuz that's totally different
― dmr, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:55 (sixteen years ago)
The more I think about Christian being the intersect, the more sense it makes. So now I'm okay with it.
But yeah, that heaven/purgatory thing was a blatant bait and switch.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:57 (sixteen years ago)
was hoping for a little MiB to show in Ben
― |8 l) u_u (bnw), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:57 (sixteen years ago)
I thought when Jack's body washed up on that rock, he was playing the role of MiB... or that maybe he always was MiB... but whatever.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 24 May 2010 03:59 (sixteen years ago)
"Mr. Cuse and Mr. Lindelof, who plan to drop out of sight for a while after the final episode is broadcast on May 23" = "We have a well stocked bunker and are prepared to stay there until the rioting stops"

Definitely thinking these dudes stepped into a car Keyser Soze-style a few hours ago and will never show their faces in public again.
― every night i tell myself i am the custos, i am the wind. (some dude), Monday, 24 May 2010 03:59 (sixteen years ago)
also, people died! mikhail and keamy. you can't have a heaven/purgatory where people die. like how boone dying proved the island wasn't purgatory, remember?
― abanana, Monday, 24 May 2010 04:00 (sixteen years ago)
the alt was really just an extended exercise in fan fiction.
― s.clover, Monday, 24 May 2010 04:00 (sixteen years ago)
I don't necessarily mind what they did with the sideways reality, but I do mind that they took half the final season to do it, seeing as in the end it turns out to have absolutely no bearing on anything unfolding on the island. Like, you could have done this whole 'afterlife as departure lounge where people let go of their shit' with the characters of any show, it didn't play into the weave of the show at all.
― Is it far? Is it far? Is it far? (Jon Lewis), Monday, 24 May 2010 04:00 (sixteen years ago)
All this season it's seemed like when everyone in the alt 'awoke' to their relationships to one another there would be some alchemical reaction with events on the island, but instead... yeah.
― Is it far? Is it far? Is it far? (Jon Lewis), Monday, 24 May 2010 04:02 (sixteen years ago)
also what was the point of jack not dying in the pit, but instead washing out only to die like 3 minutes later?
― s.clover, Monday, 24 May 2010 04:02 (sixteen years ago)
PS I'm not gonna front like I didn't cry, I did.
I think the point of that was just that they decided years ago that the final scene would be Jack dying while on the ground of the island looking up a la the pilot opening scene but figured out most of the stuff in between while breaking this season.
― every night i tell myself i am the custos, i am the wind. (some dude), Monday, 24 May 2010 04:04 (sixteen years ago)
they pushed a few emotional buttons in this very well, banked heavily on people giving into their feelings for the characters and turning off their brains.
end party in heaven and alt-timeline were different places/times, right?
