aubrey plaza just now tweeting that the Producer's cut of the finale on Hulu (which I can't get) is longer and better. if anyone investigates these claims, report back.
― Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Friday, 21 May 2010 22:14 (sixteen years ago)
gukbe, if you're back on mac you can use hotspot shield to access hulu
― leck mich im arshavin (cozen), Friday, 21 May 2010 22:19 (sixteen years ago)
not back on mac yet bro. plus throttled/crap internet made hotspot shield pretty useless. i also seem to recall hulu being all 'can't detect a region so f u buddy' and giving me that feeling of rejection.
― Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Friday, 21 May 2010 22:26 (sixteen years ago)
it should be on nbc.com too though right?
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 21 May 2010 23:31 (sixteen years ago)
interesting chemistry here between an interviewee who doesn't seem to like talking and an interviewer who seems to really like talking but doesn't really have anything to say

This actually works a little too well. I hope NBC doesn't get any ideas.

still host, and it's just called the Soup now, and is occasionally brilliant.
― dan selzer, Tuesday, 1 June 2010 18:47 (sixteen years ago)
i didn't get the audio, but i watched a funny-looking clip from the show on my flight to california. something about a strip-billiards match with an old guy.
― Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 1 June 2010 18:49 (sixteen years ago)
There is a good How I Met Your Mother Friends Theme remix up on youtube as well.
― Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 1 June 2010 23:13 (sixteen years ago)
update: saw the strip-billiards episode of community, this time with audio.
it was funnier without sound.

From Natalie Morales' tumblr:
Imagine you have a job. You love this job. You love this job so much you move across the country for it. You have a great time at work every single day. You love the people you work with. You work when you’re not at work- you advertise without any kind of pay, you promote constantly, just because you feel like you’re part of the team. As time passes, your boss gives you less and less work to do, and includes you less and less in what they originally hired you to do, but you don’t mind- because you’re part of a team. What’s good for the company is good for you, and you trust your boss.
Your job has a yearly hiatus, sorta like being a teacher does. When you go on this hiatus, you find out through someone that works in a completely different department: YOU’VE BEEN FIRED. No reason. Your bosses thought that it’d be better for the team if they went in a different direction. Okay. I mean, that happens all the time. It sucks, cause again, you loved this job, but, you’ll find another one and you have so much respect for your old company that you can’t think of any other future but an amicable one. Except that : Your boss doesn’t call you to tell you the news himself. Ever. In fact, no one that has anything to do with the company calls you. No one contacts you in any way. Weeks pass. You start to think to yourself, ” Man, this situation is being dealt with really poorly. Also, it’s kind of disrespectful at this point, right? “
Anyway, you move on and wish everyone the best- because what are you gonna do? Sit and sulk? So they dealt with it in a dick way, oh well. Months pass & the time when your old job comes back from their hiatus rolls around. People get back to work. You have also found another job. Everyone’s happy. Then you’re sitting at home watching tv, and you see a NEW commercial for your old company. With your face. Advertising something you’re no longer a part of. WITH YOUR FACE.
What do you do?
I guess, if this were to happen to me, in a crazy bizarro world where things like this actually happen and people are that unprofessional… I’d maybe write a post on tumblr about it, cause what else can I do ? ;)
Apparently she's also had a role on White Collar, so it might not be Parks, but if it is, that's both a shame (coz she's a deffo ws) and very rude.
― Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Thursday, 10 June 2010 18:05 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, I think it's White Collar that let her go. I read that her role on that show had been greatly diminished.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 10 June 2010 18:09 (sixteen years ago)
Fun thing that's also on her tumblr:
* Me:
I'm going to see Pearl Jam tonight at Madison Square Garden. * Mom:
Is that the band you really, really like? * Me:
Yes, Mom, you know that. * Mom:
I think I like them. * Me:
No, you don't. * Mom:
Yes, I do, I think I had a tape of theirs. * Me:
No, Mom, you didn't. * Mom:
Try me, what's their number one song? * Me:
Um, I guess their most well known song is probably "Jeremy". * Mom:
(sings) "Jeremy was a bullfrog!!"
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 10 June 2010 18:10 (sixteen years ago)
That is a nice tumblr theme!
Yeah that is obviously White Collar. In the random episodes I've seen she barely seemed to appear on the show. Sucks for her, but I don't like that show anyway, and she's moved onto a better show now, though probably one with worse long-term employment prospects.

what happened to this show again? cancelled for 'outsourced' or what
― am0n, Friday, 29 October 2010 17:03 (fifteen years ago)
mid-season come back. supposedly.
― No Good, Scrunty-Looking, Narf Herder (Gukbe), Friday, 29 October 2010 17:06 (fifteen years ago)
I've read some speculation that NBC is going to open up an hour of sitcoms on another night, potentially Tuesdays. P&R and 30 Rock will probably move, and something will get stuck into the 8:30 slot on Thursdays where 30 Rock currently is.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 29 October 2010 17:09 (fifteen years ago)
I actually found genuine laughs in this week's episode of Outsourced
it's clearly too late for me, run and save yourselves while you can
― lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Friday, 29 October 2010 17:11 (fifteen years ago)
I was too lazy to change the channel after Community, so I watched The Office and Outsourced too. re: Outsourced, it's clearly not as dire now as the pilot was, but I still found it being like the dumbed down version of other single camera sitcoms. "Is Parks & Recreation too thinky for you? Well here's some obvious cultural stereotype humor you might get."
I do think that one overweight guy who does double duty in eSurance commercials is pretty funny, though. I wish he could've found work in a good show.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 29 October 2010 17:15 (fifteen years ago)
the pariah dude? he and the wallflower girl are the two best things about the show
― lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Friday, 29 October 2010 17:15 (fifteen years ago)
although I do like the bitter Indian manager as well
― lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Friday, 29 October 2010 17:16 (fifteen years ago)
I was surprised to discover (via Netflix) that Outsourced was spun off from a movie.
― Your cousin, Marvin Cobain (C. Grisso/McCain), Friday, 29 October 2010 17:18 (fifteen years ago)
I heard the movie was pretty okay. I'm not going to much trouble to find out, though.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 29 October 2010 17:23 (fifteen years ago)
The only reason why I gave the show another chance was because former coworkers of mine who emigrated to the US from India were big fans of the movie and totally rooting for the series.

Although I'm sure there's a lot of crossover between this thread's audience and that of certain others where this has already been discussed, I feel the need to bump it anyway.
