What is this Force? Where does it come from? Who put the Jedi in charge? Have they been kidnapping all these younglings with high levels of midichlorians? How do they find them and how come they didn't find Walt Anakin when he was younger? Isn't the Empire right to attempt to free the galaxy from the control of these unelected self-appointed minders?

yeah, the big reveal to the lingering question that hung over the original series, of why all the main characters' midichlorians levels were so high, was pretty astonishing, especially after all taht time

I guess this makes Lost the telvision counterpart to the Phantom Menace trilogy, bad writing and all.

I'm trying to figure out which season of lost corresponds with which star wars movie, but I don't think this analogy really works

Yesterday, out of the blue, I thought "A week from now Lost will all be over." And just now I remembered thinking about having that thought yesterday. Just my own little batch of flashbacks and flashforwards.

I read that Lost ratings dropped from what was a 10 (at the start) to a 7 (at the halfway point), last week. If that's true, ike 3+ million people just turned that shit off or switched to something else. If they bring it up in the first two minutes, shit might get gnarly.

series finale's last five minutes are going to be beardy jack from the season 3/4 finale driving away from his meeting with kate to find a not-bearded jack shouting "we have to go back, jack!" right??

decent episode, "average" was refreshing after last week. biggest wtf was the voice-over preview of the finale where the narrator sounded like that midget woman from poltergeist.

I was thinking Helena Bonham Carter -- totally stupid and weird.

tbh, I'm more interested in the cast reunion/chat on Jimmy Kimmel after the finale than in the actual finale at this point.

very interesting moments: Hurley asking Des about Ana Lucia and him saying "she's not ready yet", Jacob admitting that he was a fuckup, a clear line leading to all the 815'ers at the party in the alt. I'm kinda impressed that going into the finale I have no idea what is going to happen, but it seems clear that something will.

loved Desmond's beatdown of Ben, Ana Lucia's 30-second corrupt cop cameo, Zoe getting her throat slit. Ben had a ton of good lines also.

Oh god when Miles walked over Alex's grave I thought there was gonna be some "she says she always loved you Ben!!!!" stuff.

Sad that Widmore and Ben didn't get to do some more arguing.

ya i guess i'll always be sad we didn't see the great ben-widmore war play out more... but good to see bad ben back.

I thought I heard jack refer to Locke as Flocke in this episode. I ever rewound it, and it still sounded like flocke.

i liked the explanation for why the candidates were chosen. it explained why there were so many criminals on the plane.

the "it's just a line of chalk" line was pretty good too

I think my favourite aspect of the 'candidates' thing is the implication of how many others have come before and these were just a bunch of guys who fit the bill.

... but good to see bad ben back.

It was pretty satisfying that when Jacob finally agreed to tell the Losties why he picked them, the answer was that they were a bunch of losers.
