What is this Force? Where does it come from? Who put the Jedi in charge? Have they been kidnapping all these younglings with high levels of midichlorians? How do they find them and how come they didn't find Walt Anakin when he was younger? Isn't the Empire right to attempt to free the galaxy from the control of these unelected self-appointed minders?
― this skit is ba-na-nas (onimo), Tuesday, 18 May 2010 12:56 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, the big reveal to the lingering question that hung over the original series, of why all the main characters' midichlorians levels were so high, was pretty astonishing, especially after all taht time

I would also like to know why Chewbacca was so high all the time

I guess this makes Lost the telvision counterpart to the Phantom Menace trilogy, bad writing and all.
― random non sequitur (KMS), Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:01 (sixteen years ago)
I'm trying to figure out which season of lost corresponds with which star wars movie, but I don't think this analogy really works
― peter in montreal, Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:08 (sixteen years ago)
Figure out which one was the holiday special first.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:11 (sixteen years ago)
think we pretty much did all we could with that george lucas quote.

Yesterday, out of the blue, I thought "A week from now Lost will all be over." And just now I remembered thinking about having that thought yesterday. Just my own little batch of flashbacks and flashforwards.
― Grisly Addams (WmC), Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:30 (sixteen years ago)
is Desmond going to have to go into the magic cave? will he become a white smokemonster? that would prob suck
i'll be cheering on Team Alpert when they re-appear
― mdskltr (blueski), Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:34 (sixteen years ago)
am wondering if "previously on lost" will include any scenes of last weeks crapfest
― bee en u_u (bnw), Tuesday, 18 May 2010 17:57 (sixteen years ago)
I read that Lost ratings dropped from what was a 10 (at the start) to a 7 (at the halfway point), last week. If that's true, ike 3+ million people just turned that shit off or switched to something else. If they bring it up in the first two minutes, shit might get gnarly.
― winnebago taco, Tuesday, 18 May 2010 18:01 (sixteen years ago)
should show a clip from southpark where george lucas is raping indiana jones

Ben on some heel-turn shit.

So is the immortal Richard dead, or?
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:12 (sixteen years ago)
did Sawyer refer to flocke as "Flocke" in this episode? or was if just "if locke..."
also, flocke promising the island to ben and then saying he'll blow it up was dumb shit.
― abanana, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:13 (sixteen years ago)
If Richard comes shambling out of the jungle with his head caved in and turned 180˚, all is forgiven.
― Grisly Addams (WmC), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:15 (sixteen years ago)
haha i didn't think about that but yeah
if Richard is dead, man he and Sayid got swift and unceremonious dispatches. i'm so used to long string-drenched death scenes that these quick ones feel very odd and unreal. pretty good entertaining episode, though, feeling much better about the finale than I was a couple hours ago.
― some dude, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:17 (sixteen years ago)
p sure smokey can't kill richard
― dmr, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:32 (sixteen years ago)
hit him in the throat tonight while in smoke-mode just like he did early in the season in locke-mode, betting on richard still being alive. and miles, running in the jungle. and lapidus, he could still be alive too!
series finale's last five minutes are going to be beardy jack from the season 3/4 finale driving away from his meeting with kate to find a not-bearded jack shouting "we have to go back, jack!" right??
― did you mean: fart blasters? (nickalicious), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:39 (sixteen years ago)
decent episode, "average" was refreshing after last week. biggest wtf was the voice-over preview of the finale where the narrator sounded like that midget woman from poltergeist.
― bee en u_u (bnw), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:52 (sixteen years ago)
I was thinking Helena Bonham Carter -- totally stupid and weird.
― Grisly Addams (WmC), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:56 (sixteen years ago)
LMAO @ the Poltergeist dwarf!!! I thought the exact same thing. Terrifying.
― winnebago taco, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 02:58 (sixteen years ago)
tbh, I'm more interested in the cast reunion/chat on Jimmy Kimmel after the finale than in the actual finale at this point.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 03:21 (sixteen years ago)
i can't wait for the goodbye tweets played during the finale courtesy of verizon!!!!

the preview including aaron and the blast door map is some wishful thinking on the preview creator's part.

ya the thing is about this season tho is that sayid is still around in the alternate reality... so it's not like the audience is saying goodbye to him yet

AWESOME EP
very interesting moments: Hurley asking Des about Ana Lucia and him saying "she's not ready yet", Jacob admitting that he was a fuckup, a clear line leading to all the 815'ers at the party in the alt. I'm kinda impressed that going into the finale I have no idea what is going to happen, but it seems clear that something will.
loved Desmond's beatdown of Ben, Ana Lucia's 30-second corrupt cop cameo, Zoe getting her throat slit. Ben had a ton of good lines also.
― bug holocaust (sleeve), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 05:23 (sixteen years ago)
Oh god when Miles walked over Alex's grave I thought there was gonna be some "she says she always loved you Ben!!!!" stuff.
Sad that Widmore and Ben didn't get to do some more arguing.
― Not the real Village People, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 05:39 (sixteen years ago)
ya i guess i'll always be sad we didn't see the great ben-widmore war play out more... but good to see bad ben back.
― NUDE. MAYNE. (s1ocki), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 05:40 (sixteen years ago)
totally thought voice over girl was joanna newsom tbh
― Clay, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 05:44 (sixteen years ago)
so who let Desmond out? what was the stupid deal with Widmore whispering the big Desmond secret to Locke only to have him go "o ya he's a failsafe" 10 mins later?
― Not the real Village People, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 05:44 (sixteen years ago)
I thought I heard jack refer to Locke as Flocke in this episode. I ever rewound it, and it still sounded like flocke.
― Jacob Sanders, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 06:06 (sixteen years ago)
i liked the explanation for why the candidates were chosen. it explained why there were so many criminals on the plane.
― abanana, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 06:08 (sixteen years ago)
the "it's just a line of chalk" line was pretty good too
― Nhex, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 06:10 (sixteen years ago)
I think my favourite aspect of the 'candidates' thing is the implication of how many others have come before and these were just a bunch of guys who fit the bill.
― Not the real Village People, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 06:44 (sixteen years ago)
... but good to see bad ben back.
naw, smokey's getting played (tho scheming ben, good or bad, is infinitely better than mopey wet-blanket ben)
― in movie 2001 resurrect thread on planet jupiter (Pillbox), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 10:20 (sixteen years ago)
It was pretty satisfying that when Jacob finally agreed to tell the Losties why he picked them, the answer was that they were a bunch of losers.
