it turns out that the 2 mysterious guys who seem to have always been on the island were...raised by a mysterious lady who seems to have always been on the island

and the vague mystical phenomena on the island are all being caused by...another vague mystical phenomenon on the island

God like this whole show has been like fumbling around a dark room where no one will ever turn on a light and like instead of actual plot development the writers just ADD ANOTHER DARK ROOM ~B I G R E V E A L~ and they just won't ever stop doing that and ahhhhh

This feels like something Cuse/Lindelof thought would be cool to do four years ago, and stubbornly stuck with even after it became obvious it was a semi-waste of an hour.

I was trying to figure out if CJ spoke like a moron because:
a) she was from olden times
b) she was speaking to children
c) she was a character on Lost

This episode was worse than Hugo's Imaginary Friend or Jack Gets A Tatoo bcz at least those episodes were of zero consequence to anything and not like the THIRD TO LAST EPISODE OF THE ENTIRE SERIES or whatever.

The whole Alison Janney = EVE thing is some Nikki & Paolo shit, for real.

Also, why kill the people? Why stop (real) MiB from leaving the island? Smokey still gets out and it's Jacob's fucking fault, so the inevitable happened, except with blood on Jacob's hands when there didn't have to be. Maybe that explains why he's a dick, but it doesn't fill my need FOR A GOOD AND COMPELLING STORY.

I'm confused--is smokey a separate entity from MiB, who got released*, or was MiB's soul or whatever turned into smokey by entering that fucking RPG savepoint thing. What their mom said about the consequences of Jacob entering being worse than dying works in both scenarios imo.

*I mean also what happens if a rabbit or whatever hops in there and how would that have not happened ever.

Smokey killed real MiB because he's pure evil, and assumes his likeness when conversing with Jacob in the future.

But yeah, if the system was that fragile, a rabbit could've unleashed evil Smokey.

I guess we'll learn more about the mirrors in the lighthouse next week (as suggested by the promo), but Jack was clearly Jacob's favorite candidate and now we know why. They're the fucking same.

So did we really see both pixie kids popping up around the island in previous episodes and just assumed it was the blonde one both times? Or was it the same lil guy?

I thought this episode was fine. I've already given up hope that the ending will be satisfying, so now I'll just take a ol timey yarn if it gets me away from Kate and Jack for awhile.

xp who knows? If everyone killed on the island can be a ghost, maybe 13 yo MiB is running around in the trees too. Maybe even jungle CJ's ghost is out there.

i enjoyed it too. if they haven't already hammered the point a million times, they sure did again with the "every answer just leads to more questions" line
