Twitter C/D

I have no idea how a hole this large could be left in a service as popular as Twitter, nor do I understand why it hasn't been shut yet. What I do understand, though, is that Oprah is following me right now, and receiving my DMs. So anyway, here's how it works:
1. Open the Twitter web interface (I haven't been able to get it to work in the apps I've tried)
2. Tweet "accept username", as in "accept oprah"

According to an e-mail we received this morning, the Twitter bug and ensuing 0 followers/0 following fiasco was inadvertently started by a Turkish fan of heavy metal band Accept. When this young man tweeted “Accept pwnz,” he found that the user @pwnz was suddenly following him.

Is it worth it to be on Twitter, do you think? I'm thinking of joining again, but every time I have in the past I was on there for a really short amount of time before quitting.

"Worth" it? I don't think it's anything other than a fun way to kill some time, unless you're someone who needs to network with writers or comedians or fans.

At work we see it as a business tool. Personally I find it a much nicer way of staying in touch with people casually than Facebook.

Utah firing squad death announced on Twitter

1. they still use firing squads in some states?

1. Utah stopped using firing squads but decided that as Gardner was sentenced (in 1985) before it was eliminated that he should be executed in accordance with his original sentence.

Gardner got to request a last song to be played before he was shot. He chose Free Bird. I heard that song in a store today. Now it will always remind me of death by firing squad(whereas before it just made me want to kill myself because why still playing this?). I'm sure his victims' families enjoyed sitting through that paean to teenage angst. Back to Twitter.

If you are really that vain, from my experience Twunfollow works much more frequently than Goodbye Buddy.

The flurry of replies to the new, apparently real @tonyblairoffice is kind of amusing. I feel sorry for whichever underpaid intern has to sort through hundreds of 'MURDERER! WAR CRIMINAL! TERRORIST!' tweets every day.
