Wonder if that Brie story "inspired" Annie's loss of virginity tale from the episode about the safe sex fair.

Just saw that the same writer, Emily Cutler, is responsible for both Modern Warfare AND the chicken fingers episodes. Let's get this woman an Emmy at her earliest convenience, thanks.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 May 2010 19:08 (sixteen years ago)

Bet yall noticed it but funny which member of their group got shot first

CaptainLorax, Friday, 7 May 2010 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

Yes, I DID notice. No way that was just random.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 May 2010 19:29 (sixteen years ago)

ha, never thought it through like that!

tart w/ a heart (a hoy hoy), Friday, 7 May 2010 19:30 (sixteen years ago)

of all the references though...the degree by which they nailed the 28 Days Later atmosphere was pretty amazing.

dan selzer, Friday, 7 May 2010 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

I think the most amazing thing for me was how casually the paintball contest was mentioned (and disregarded) and then when it became a full blown thing.. from the first Abed appearance to the rendezvous point with Troy. Then I was continually amazed that the action film spiel was continually pulled off flawlessly - things like the scene where they are sitting around the fire in the cafeteria really got to me. I'm gonna stop praising this episode before I curse it :)

CaptainLorax, Friday, 7 May 2010 19:56 (sixteen years ago)

so is this show always delightful or only when there is cartoon violence?

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 7 May 2010 20:01 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, this show is pretty unfuckable with atm

Genius!! Filled with referencey-goodness. Mr Veg and I were crying laughing the whole way through...and omg I want that paintball machinegun so bad! Senor Chang FTW.

VegemiteGrrrl, Friday, 7 May 2010 22:08 (sixteen years ago)

Can I saw that Britta is one of the most attractive women on television right now?

Sherman Helmsley Teabag (Cattle Grind), Friday, 7 May 2010 22:51 (sixteen years ago)

I think Agent Olivia Dunham from 'Fringe' has her beat, but Britta's pretty awesome.

VegemiteGrrrl, Friday, 7 May 2010 23:41 (sixteen years ago)

Annie > Britta, sorry dudes.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 May 2010 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

amazing ep

Greatest contributor: (history mayne), Friday, 7 May 2010 23:47 (sixteen years ago)

Annie's right up there too. I could go either way with them on any day of the week, honestly.

Sherman Helmsley Teabag (Cattle Grind), Friday, 7 May 2010 23:49 (sixteen years ago)

Perhaps I could have phrased that better.

Sherman Helmsley Teabag (Cattle Grind), Friday, 7 May 2010 23:49 (sixteen years ago)

The spy-chick on Chuck is up there in the top 3 probably. I like the redhead on The Mentalist also. Olivia otm.

CaptainLorax, Saturday, 8 May 2010 00:05 (sixteen years ago)

love that this is their second dig at Glee

Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Saturday, 8 May 2010 00:15 (sixteen years ago)

Love the John mclane wifebeater

VegemiteGrrrl, Saturday, 8 May 2010 02:04 (sixteen years ago)

what was the battle royale ref? i musta missed it. there was a bunch going on there.

s.clover, Saturday, 8 May 2010 05:37 (sixteen years ago)

The whole thing seemed kinda Battle Royale'ish. Esp the part where they send in the ringer to kill everyone.

Mordy, Saturday, 8 May 2010 06:08 (sixteen years ago)

if this episode doesn't win some kind of award, there's no point in having awards.

if he wants to cry to the night sky that's what he'll fucking do (reddening), Saturday, 8 May 2010 09:04 (sixteen years ago)

that episode must have been so fun to make

max, Saturday, 8 May 2010 12:30 (sixteen years ago)

I can imagine it'd be stressful too, because they had to get the shots just right for the satire to work. And it's out of their element a little.

One thing I know is that it was sure as hell fun to watch.

Sherman Helmsley Teabag (Cattle Grind), Saturday, 8 May 2010 13:58 (sixteen years ago)

Justin Lin directed it. Makes sense.

Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Saturday, 8 May 2010 14:04 (sixteen years ago)

troy's "jeff winger... you son of of a bitch"

soooooo hilarious

cutty, Saturday, 8 May 2010 14:25 (sixteen years ago)

the last few episodes have been amazing.

yeah troy was a standout this whole episode, too bad he had to die first but the meta-joke was basically worth it

max, Saturday, 8 May 2010 14:37 (sixteen years ago)

I think I missed the meta-joke?

Mordy, Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:24 (sixteen years ago)

black guy dies first cliche is all it is afaik

some dude, Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:24 (sixteen years ago)

which one?

tart w/ a heart (a hoy hoy), Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:24 (sixteen years ago)

its a black guy dies first thing, but its funny b/c it happens when troy is talking about how hes NOT just a black guy and obviously it sounds pretty dumb when i write it out like that

max, Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:26 (sixteen years ago)

i'm not an ambassador... i'm a gladiator

Greatest contributor: (history mayne), Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:30 (sixteen years ago)

God, this one was so great. Was reading thru the comments on the AV Club and agreed with the sentiment that while the show uses a lot of pop-culture refs, it uses them to both augment and illustrate the character interactions.

Also, fat blubbery victim was great

WTF cat with unfitting music (kingfish), Saturday, 8 May 2010 15:31 (sixteen years ago)

it's totally found its metier with this and the goodfellas ep. completely inspired.
