I know dude, but the Hawks have been playing the slick game for a while now. The one game I went to this year was one of the least physical contests I've ever seen in person.

yep, and the Hawks actually played a game against the Devils where neither team had a penalty. First time that's happened in the NHL in ages. so you are probably right. Growing up though (in the 80's) the old Hawks-Wings-Stars-Blues games were some of the biggest bloodbaths youve ever seen. Since that's what I grew up with, thats the kind of stuff I like to see.

does kronwall not hit? i don't like him, but holmstrom plays as physical game as anyone in the league. the red wings play great, entertaining hockey (or did, anyway). yeah, they don't fight much, but you don't get to the finals two years in a row with out being able to play physical hockey (as opposed to dumb hockey, like the flyers). god knows i'd rather watch the wings play 'visor hockey' than lou lamoriello's left-wing lock. besides, it's been a while since scott stevens retired, and i don't see travis zajac and zach parise littering the ice with bodies.

Kronwall laid out a Shark player in open ice either this last game or game 2, can't recall. I don't know what Ericsson was doing on that play, I can only throw my hands up in disgust so many times. I really like Helm, and I think in another couple seasons Howard will be ready for big time, but not yet.

One thing I grinned at last night (before the Wings went to shit) was Lidstrom using the back boards to bounce a puck on net. Dude's old and crafty.

Total bullshit. He played the game how it was supposed to be played, and was the fucking heart and soul of a team that won 3 Cups (should have been 4) in seven years. I think the Red Wings have ruined hockey with their wimpass Euro style.

Calm down Bill. And yeah, watching the Devils of that era was incredibly boring. And Stevens was a thug who has no place in the Hall of Fame. While they did actually have a legitimate star defenceman back then, his name was Niedermayer, NOT Stevens. And I'm sure most hockey fans would love to hear how Stevie Y. spent 22 years playing the "Eurotrash" hockey style that Scotty Bowman is so known for.
