(i honestly kind of assumed that i would be the first poor ilx bastard to search out and watch this (almost certainly terrible) movie, i applaud the brave heroes that have gone before me)

I don't think I've ever heard any movie described to me that I was less interested in seeing.

This is playing in Chicago at the Music Box with a midnight showing this Friday, and I think some other midnight shows, too. I'm half-obsessed with this movie, but I am pretty sure I'm never going to see it.

haha, OK, they talked about this on Charlie Brooker this week and, just...NO. Though Wiki suggests there's a whole trilogy planned, which is all kinds of incredible.

i read that all 19 members of broken-social-scene have signed on to play the centipede in the sequel.

I keep thinking back to Alex's question about the actors who portray the centipede and it really does seem like hard, horrible drugs must somehow be involved.

i've actuallt spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out WHY i find this so disturbing.

it's because the whole premise is about shit eating and the consequences thereof. it's brutal.

i mean, that knowledge is really about as bad as it gets. it's not a graphic film, really, a few shots aside.

honestly, i don't think that's why it's so disturbing (tho that is plenty disturbing, don't get me wrong). i think it has more to do with being forced into a space between life and death, where you don't control your own body at all. the whole notion of having your kneecaps removed, teeth removed and being sown to another person like that is . . . horrifying. that trailer haunted me for days.

Woah I just read about this for the 1st time ever. I guess for copraphiles this is gonna be awesome. For everyone else yeah pretty damn disturbing. Inhuman bodily mutilation is a pretty terrifying concept if you ask me.

I think that if this movie is awesome for you, it is a sign that you need serious psychological help.
