Oi, you don't need sauce to enjoy your bum!

Lara (Lara), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

It could render it even tastier, though.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 20 September 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks Ally, we may hit a tavern afterwards, any recommendations? It has been some time since I've done the West End and I'm completely out of touch with what's going on.

Looking for somewhere we can hear ourselves drink, not too quiet though, and not old manny. Last time I was out I spent most of the night in Whistlers Mother eating peanuts...

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 08:19 (twenty-one years ago)

a face like an in-swinger.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Just up the street (Woodlands Road) is the Uisge Beatha. It's not bad.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

It has a tendency to get a bit stowed out on a Saturday night though, doesn't it?

Even further up Woodlands Road is the Halt, which is also not bad. Saying that, it probably isn't there any more, as the West End seems to have changed ridiculously from when I used to live there.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It is there. Perhaps Lloyd Cole is also there. It is possibly more old-manny though. The Uisge Beatha is a weird pub - I have been there on weekends where it's empty, and ones where you can't move.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

which way is up?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I was in The Halt on Saturday. It's very much still there.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks, I've been in Uisge Beatha before, for a meeting of the, er, Glasgow West Indian All Nations Club.

Tha Halt? I'll give it a go if I can find it.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

try celtic park more.

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 08:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be, this afternoon.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 25 September 2004 08:42 (twenty-one years ago)

me too.

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I might (might) have a spare season book for today's match. I'm supposed to be taking my little brother but he's not here. I guess I should be leaving here about, say, 12.30 - 1pm. are thr any other ilxer celtic fans who don't already have season books? madchen?

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

gah sorry false alarm he's just walked through the door innit.

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 09:17 (twenty-one years ago)

ouch.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen is not strictly a Celtic fan.

Last night, I tried Glasgow a little whilst sober, and had fun. I love to watch Catherine dance. She is so magically young, like Emily Lloyd.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 25 September 2004 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Emily Lloyd is in the forthcoming Peter Sellers film, to which I am looking forward.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 25 September 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

"sober"
"Celtic fan"

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, Glasgow people, do you want to come for a pizza with me next Saturday night?

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

cheesy

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally has inspected the menu and there are other things for cheeze haterz.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:25 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, yeah, he doesn't like cheese.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you see Rowetta?

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess not.

who or what is rowetta?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

it's okay.

we have figured it out.

yes, we did see her.

she was bonkers.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm rooting for her.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

: (

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen, we'll come and have pizza with you next Saturday! Me and the mister were just saying last night that we should phone you lot and go out for a meal.

Ally C ate a pizza on his 21st birthday, as despite being a cheese hatah he had his birthday meal in Deep Pan Pizza Co. He was quite drunk though. The staff in there must hate us.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 26 September 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I was sick soon afterwards. This may not have been due to the pizza. If the staff still remember us 5 years later, something is wrong.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 26 September 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I have pizza WITHOUT CHEESE (warm sandwiches).

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 26 September 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

You are so crazy.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 26 September 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I also had a kebab last night BEFORE I started drinking.

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 26 September 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Everyone was sick quite soon afterwards (carsmile to thread, etc), weren't they?

I meant they must have hated us. If any of them are even still working there 5 years on, something else is wrong. With them.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 26 September 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I will pizza!

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 26 September 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, but Saturday?

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 26 September 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes Saturday.

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 26 September 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

It's Emily Watson, not Emily Lloyd, in the Peter Sellers film. I get them mixed up. Silly PJM.

I see the Rangers had a good win.

The older I get, the more I can see the appeal of Rangers. Is this normal? I think it probably is.

Kilmarnock is the luckiest town in Britain, if not the world.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 26 September 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, how many shall I book a table for? I will do it early this time.
Ailsa, Neil, Ally, me, Cathy, RJG... what about Nick? Any others?

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 27 September 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Where are we going?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 27 September 2004 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a place in the Merchant city that has a proper wood fired oven but the name escapes me. Is that OK?

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 27 September 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds good to me. : )))

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 27 September 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't mean is it OK I've forgotten the name, obv. I'll find out. it's on the same street as Armani, but towards the High Street.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 27 September 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Just in case anyone missed this, Edinburgh FAP? Oct 11?

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 27 September 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a Monday. Edinburgh on a Monday? It's possible.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 27 September 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

What about doing Glasgow on the Tuesday instead? I'm not sure about the wisdom of Edinburgh on a Monday (or any other day, come to think of it).

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Tuesday is Lloyd.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, so it is. I should get a ticket soon, I guess.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Is the Halt Bar going to be packed on Tuesday?

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

No, because everyone will be at Lloyd Cole.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)
