yeah i thought that exact thing about walt's new buddy. those scenes were so weird...like so overtly gay!
― I see what this is (Local Garda), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:13 (sixteen years ago)
yeah they were! jesus this episode was incredible. i watched it after working late and couldn't sleep for hours afterwards
― pollos da don (tpp), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:20 (sixteen years ago)
that shot of Hank in the hospital was amazing. i might watch again when i get home!
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:22 (sixteen years ago)
saul even felt bad abt fucking w/hank like that
― ice cr?m, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:24 (sixteen years ago)
i knew that's what they would do but it just felt so dark. hank is like...going to pieces, it seems like him having a heart attack or something could happen except might be a bit obvious.
― I see what this is (Local Garda), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:26 (sixteen years ago)
especially after having neglected marie for days.. when he was sitting on the stakeout, his front seat piled high with fast food wrappers, the expression he gave his phone - the sigh - when he saw it was her calling AGAIN was priceless. to go through all the guilt over those feelings on the race to the hospital and then realize it was all a con.. ooh fucker
― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:35 (sixteen years ago)
thinkin hank will go apeshit next episode
― am0n, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:39 (sixteen years ago)
yeah he has just fucking lost it. it's actually quite sad cos as much as he's a big hulking jock he's actually quite a decent guy, cares about his family, but he's just in a state.
― I see what this is (Local Garda), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:42 (sixteen years ago)
this show has done so well to take the time to flesh characters out. like it would have been easy to leave hank the as boilerplate tough-guy vic mackey cop character. i really really like hank and hope he doesn't die in the next episode.
― pollos da don (tpp), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:53 (sixteen years ago)
yeah otm...the pacing of the show has been perfect too, like everyone's development feels v good and also i really feel each episode has the right amount of stuff happening in it.
something like lost where one week it's a huge series of crazy shit and the next it's nothing at all happening is massively annoying in comparison.
― I see what this is (Local Garda), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:56 (sixteen years ago)
I think there is a good chance that Hank'll kill one or both of the cousins.
― Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:56 (sixteen years ago)
i see hank taking out both the cousins and being badly badly wounded. wonder if they'll kill the sister/wife? that would be an interesting twist.
― forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 21:36 (sixteen years ago)
That would make sense, since they've given her a lot more screen time this season, to build her up for it.
― Nhex, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 21:48 (sixteen years ago)
have they?? i feel like marie's had like 10 lines.
― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 21:50 (sixteen years ago)
Well, compared to the last two seasons at the very least. She's definitely had more conversations and both Hank and Skyler, it's contributed a lot to her character development. In previous seasons she wasn't much more than a nag with random bouts of kleptomania.
― Nhex, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 21:57 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah she seems like she's barely on the show at all these days.
― Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 21:58 (sixteen years ago)
i don't think she's really been on all that much.
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 22:53 (sixteen years ago)
walt has no idea what it takes to be a successful criminal
one sentence summary of this seasons so far
― where display names die, unrecognized (Lamp), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 00:01 (sixteen years ago)
just rewatched the phone call/hospital scene. soo good. that close up of Hank's expression is so great. not only because he'd just been made a fool of - but also, I'm sure he must've realized how easily they got his name, number and wife's info. before even his coworkers could get there.I'm sure next ep he could be in full panic mode.
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 00:18 (sixteen years ago)
he might be ready for the twins as a result!
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 00:19 (sixteen years ago)
Was there a deal with the opening sequence? Or was it just another sequence demonstrating that dudes are psychos? Otherwise a fucking perfect episode.
― Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Monday, 26 April 2010 16:53 (2 days ago)
I thought it was establishing that they have no compunctions or fears about offing law enforcement officers, foreshadowing their decision to kill Hank.
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 06:25 (sixteen years ago)
Ah, that's a good catch.
― Nhex, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 06:51 (sixteen years ago)
As far as Walt and Gale the lab assistant, does Walt have any reason whatsoever to doubt Gus's judgment? I found their level of sharing to be pretty right on.
― Jouster, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 07:16 (sixteen years ago)
yeah i can't imagine it would be possible for that guy to help him cook meth and NOT learn his method. even jesse managed it and this guy is a chemist! don't see any harm in telling him
― pollos da don (tpp), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 07:28 (sixteen years ago)
that's true
― Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 09:17 (sixteen years ago)
Well I think it's a bit of the idea of walt not being a good criminal. Walt doesn't exactly have a patent on his formula, and he has zero use to Gus et al once they can recreate what Walt does. It's in Walt's interest to keep his secrets close to the vest, otherwise Gus will sic the cousins on him as soon as Walt can't provide new information. He's too shortsighted, too trusting.
― sandwich-american (Clay), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 10:40 (sixteen years ago)
I don't think Gus would sic the cousins on Walt. Having Gale learn the formula is merely a contingency plan if and when the cousins kill Walt.
― Jeff, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 11:50 (sixteen years ago)
Or when Walt dies of cancer.
― Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 12:17 (sixteen years ago)
good point... have they even mentioned his cancer this season?
― second toughest in the internets (another al3x), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 12:56 (sixteen years ago)
Not much.
One thing I found interesting is that Gus said a few episodes ago that he doesn't use fear as a motivator. It will be interesting to see if he can continue that path through these latest issues.
― Jeff, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 13:24 (sixteen years ago)
jesus... this show is fucked
― A-voter: An All New World (of Language) Awaits (cozen), Sunday, 2 May 2010 21:20 (sixteen years ago)

― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Monday, 3 May 2010 04:07 (sixteen years ago)
ok. okay.i dunno why Gus would give a damn about Hank. i guess it's possible. who else would even know? maybe Walt found out and had Sal make another call???
at first when i heard the voice i thought it was his boss.
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Monday, 3 May 2010 04:24 (sixteen years ago)
I think Gus is the one... besides nicely mirroring the phone call in the opening scene which showed that he was never on good terms with that branch of the family, he probably realized that even if the twins succeeded in killing Hank, they'd still demand to get Walt at some point - those dudes can't be placated. By giving Hank a heads-up, there was at least that chance that he could take out one or both of them. (And the flashback with the uncle was another great appearance for that actor!)

I watched season 2 in a short block of a few days and I'm kind of hazy on a lot of it but has this season really just taken this whole show to the next level or what?
― Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Monday, 3 May 2010 12:43 (sixteen years ago)
it feels like i guess a lot of big shit has gone down...after a lot of pieces being put in place.
i'm guessing now the cops go wild on hank's operation now that two people tried to kill him, obv he's on the right track etc.
