what an amazing episode...this show is just so in its stride right now.

hank is like he is physically and mentally rotting due to this investigation. his face in that hospital scene, god, i thought he might have a heart attack.

it's so amazing that within the tension they do something like that, i had to pause it as the lol was such a welcome break. actually had pulse racing during this ep, this show is untouchable.

i'm disappointed that walt trusts this new guy so much right off the bat - if i were him i'd be tight-lipped and keep my secrets close to the vest so as to increase my chances of staying alive. but i guess walt doesn't realize how much danger he's in. and also needs a friend big time. :(

yeah, no doubt capt. pollos has requested that dude get his special formula so when and if the hatchet brothers off walt, he can continue to grind out the blue stuff indefinitely.

i knew that's what they would do but it just felt so dark. hank is like...going to pieces, it seems like him having a heart attack or something could happen except might be a bit obvious.

especially after having neglected marie for days.. when he was sitting on the stakeout, his front seat piled high with fast food wrappers, the expression he gave his phone - the sigh - when he saw it was her calling AGAIN was priceless. to go through all the guilt over those feelings on the race to the hospital and then realize it was all a con.. ooh fucker

thinkin hank will go apeshit next episode

yeah he has just fucking lost it. it's actually quite sad cos as much as he's a big hulking jock he's actually quite a decent guy, cares about his family, but he's just in a state.

this show has done so well to take the time to flesh characters out. like it would have been easy to leave hank the as boilerplate tough-guy vic mackey cop character. i really really like hank and hope he doesn't die in the next episode.

yeah otm...the pacing of the show has been perfect too, like everyone's development feels v good and also i really feel each episode has the right amount of stuff happening in it.

something like lost where one week it's a huge series of crazy shit and the next it's nothing at all happening is massively annoying in comparison.

I think there is a good chance that Hank'll kill one or both of the cousins.

i see hank taking out both the cousins and being badly badly wounded. wonder if they'll kill the sister/wife? that would be an interesting twist.

That would make sense, since they've given her a lot more screen time this season, to build her up for it.

Well, compared to the last two seasons at the very least. She's definitely had more conversations and both Hank and Skyler, it's contributed a lot to her character development. In previous seasons she wasn't much more than a nag with random bouts of kleptomania.

Yeah she seems like she's barely on the show at all these days.

just rewatched the phone call/hospital scene. soo good. that close up of Hank's expression is so great. not only because he'd just been made a fool of - but also, I'm sure he must've realized how easily they got his name, number and wife's info. before even his coworkers could get there.
I'm sure next ep he could be in full panic mode.

As far as Walt and Gale the lab assistant, does Walt have any reason whatsoever to doubt Gus's judgment? I found their level of sharing to be pretty right on.

yeah i can't imagine it would be possible for that guy to help him cook meth and NOT learn his method. even jesse managed it and this guy is a chemist! don't see any harm in telling him

Well I think it's a bit of the idea of walt not being a good criminal. Walt doesn't exactly have a patent on his formula, and he has zero use to Gus et al once they can recreate what Walt does. It's in Walt's interest to keep his secrets close to the vest, otherwise Gus will sic the cousins on him as soon as Walt can't provide new information. He's too shortsighted, too trusting.

I don't think Gus would sic the cousins on Walt. Having Gale learn the formula is merely a contingency plan if and when the cousins kill Walt.

Or when Walt dies of cancer.

Not much.

One thing I found interesting is that Gus said a few episodes ago that he doesn't use fear as a motivator. It will be interesting to see if he can continue that path through these latest issues.
