i'm sad about lack of karaokeage too - a trip to "Cafe India" filled (partly) the curry needs (although there was really too much tomatoes in the rogan josh) but one day i shall sample the vindaloos of glasgow properly.

It was good to see all of yous! hope to return soon and next time actually getting on the mode of transport i will have planned for.

p.s. the "cryptic clues" quiz machine at the drum and monkey(?) is teh excelsior.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was like the bit at the end of Gregory's Girl where Gregory and Susan just say random numbers to each other. Except with letters instead.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Cozen and I's relationship is nothing like that of Gregory and Susan's.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I's?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a randem tandem.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to bum a b.

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

You can stay here if you like.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

thank you.

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

What, in the world, are you talking about?

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

sleeping!

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure that all that's going on here.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

that's

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

You're so suspicious. Are you coming?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

it's jist the way he's staunin'.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 16 September 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

This is sheer madness

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

really?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

have you been to the gardens?

I think cook still hasn't even though I tried to take him.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I went to the opening of the gardens. It was a lovely sunny day and we had strawberry tarts and wine and listened to Big Band Music. I predict that 24th September will not have similar weather.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

'urban creativity' = 'demolishing maternity provision'

scotstvo (scotstvo), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

It upsets me too much to go.

Actually, I did walk past it in the dark recently. It looked OK.

Why 'Finding Nemo'?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

replacing?

crosspost

RJG (RJG), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

It'll be nicer once the ivy has grown across the stepped bits. Last time I saw it, the planting was a bit gappy. I like the water features and the nappy pin.

I think it's OK to demolish a hospital if it's too old to cope with modern medicine, as long as there's somewhere else that's convenient and has the capacity for the patients to go to. I don't get sentimental, but then I wasn't born there.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a lovely plaque commemorating all the babies that were born there, and also the ones that died there.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd like to say that I love pictures of Ally's behind when he's dancing but I'm not going to cos it has connotations. (He’s so perky and bendy!)

Lara (Lara), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Yo yo yo whassup Glasgow!

Kev and I are going for a proper 'date' on saturday night, we haven't done this since we moved in together last year. Thinking about the Shish Mahal - I think it's Park Street? Anyone tried it?

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes. It was very late at night and we were the only people there. I think we annoyed the waiters cos they wanted to go home. Food was nice, though. I think.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Lara is drunk, already.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Oi, you don't need sauce to enjoy your bum!

Lara (Lara), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

It could render it even tastier, though.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 20 September 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks Ally, we may hit a tavern afterwards, any recommendations? It has been some time since I've done the West End and I'm completely out of touch with what's going on.

Looking for somewhere we can hear ourselves drink, not too quiet though, and not old manny. Last time I was out I spent most of the night in Whistlers Mother eating peanuts...

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 08:19 (twenty-one years ago)

a face like an in-swinger.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Just up the street (Woodlands Road) is the Uisge Beatha. It's not bad.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

It has a tendency to get a bit stowed out on a Saturday night though, doesn't it?

Even further up Woodlands Road is the Halt, which is also not bad. Saying that, it probably isn't there any more, as the West End seems to have changed ridiculously from when I used to live there.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It is there. Perhaps Lloyd Cole is also there. It is possibly more old-manny though. The Uisge Beatha is a weird pub - I have been there on weekends where it's empty, and ones where you can't move.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

which way is up?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I was in The Halt on Saturday. It's very much still there.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks, I've been in Uisge Beatha before, for a meeting of the, er, Glasgow West Indian All Nations Club.

Tha Halt? I'll give it a go if I can find it.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

try celtic park more.

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 08:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be, this afternoon.
