― sofatruck, Thursday, 29 April 2010 02:40 (sixteen years ago)
Caps had been bullying Halak in the crease all series long. Just desserts, I say.

Ranked pastabilities in terms of awesomeness:
MON v VAN (suck it, bettman)
MON v CHI (chicago = fun!)
MON v SAN (amazed SJ made it out of round 1 tbh)
MON v DET (again?)
PIT v VAN (I have a heavy canadian bias)
PIT v CHI (We've seen nothing but razzle-dazzle here today)
There are no other options.
― Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Tuesday, 4 May 2010 03:37 (sixteen years ago)
wait you don't want to see PIT v DET again?
― mookieproof, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 05:01 (sixteen years ago)
worst option tbh
― Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Tuesday, 4 May 2010 05:07 (sixteen years ago)
Nice comeback by the Hawks baby.
If its another Detroit-Pit finals, i will drown myself in a vat of acid.
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 13:34 (sixteen years ago)
mike keenan has declared his interest in coaching the devils
save your vat of acid for that possibility

btw I am thinkin' the Wings are probably done in 5 in this series, they just don't seem to have the hunger that their opponents do

Goddamn. Him and Lou Lamoriello together, how ugly could that get.

I hear when you turn 50, which is probably the average age of the Wings, your appetite subsides. So that may be the explanation for the lack of hunger.
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 18:30 (sixteen years ago)
I don't understand why some teams are still considering hiring Mike Keenan in 2010
― peter in montreal, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 18:31 (sixteen years ago)
i'd be surprised if the devils were seriously considering him -- lamoriello is only interested in people who previously played/coached for them 15 years ago
― mookieproof, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 18:45 (sixteen years ago)
Keep an eye on Ron Wilson then, played for him and worked for him at Providence College. Dunno what his current contract is like.
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 4 May 2010 19:15 (sixteen years ago)
bump. Red Wings on life support. Fellow fans of the North American style of play, its a great day for us.
― Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 May 2010 15:18 (sixteen years ago)
uh diving, clutch & grab?
― he takes the account of everything in the universe into consideration (dan m), Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:18 (sixteen years ago)
I mean yeah the Wings fell apart again but idk if it's really down to "style".

If you want to describe it like that, I much prefer it to "Visor Hockey", the euro style, soccer on skates shit where nobody hits anybody.
― Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:43 (sixteen years ago)
So what you're saying is you don't like the Hawks' game.
― he takes the account of everything in the universe into consideration (dan m), Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:46 (sixteen years ago)
hahaha-what about Dustin Bfouljspldjfldsjllyn?
Just taking a couple gratuitous shots at the Wings, (half) joking, as always.
― Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:51 (sixteen years ago)
I know dude, but the Hawks have been playing the slick game for a while now. The one game I went to this year was one of the least physical contests I've ever seen in person.
― he takes the account of everything in the universe into consideration (dan m), Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:52 (sixteen years ago)
yep, and the Hawks actually played a game against the Devils where neither team had a penalty. First time that's happened in the NHL in ages. so you are probably right. Growing up though (in the 80's) the old Hawks-Wings-Stars-Blues games were some of the biggest bloodbaths youve ever seen. Since that's what I grew up with, thats the kind of stuff I like to see.
― Bill Magill, Wednesday, 5 May 2010 16:58 (sixteen years ago)
you are being ridiculous, bm -- especially coming from a devils fan.
does kronwall not hit? i don't like him, but holmstrom plays as physical game as anyone in the league. the red wings play great, entertaining hockey (or did, anyway). yeah, they don't fight much, but you don't get to the finals two years in a row with out being able to play physical hockey (as opposed to dumb hockey, like the flyers). god knows i'd rather watch the wings play 'visor hockey' than lou lamoriello's left-wing lock. besides, it's been a while since scott stevens retired, and i don't see travis zajac and zach parise littering the ice with bodies.
anyway. what was ericsson doing on that 2-on-1 last night for the wings? he wasn't in the shooting lane, he wasn't in the passing lane, he didn't even have his stick on the ice.
― mookieproof, Wednesday, 5 May 2010 23:42 (sixteen years ago)
the bruins and flyers both play an unspectacular form of hockey and both teams seem to be in the 'just happy to be here' camp
― Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Thursday, 6 May 2010 00:06 (sixteen years ago)
Kronwall laid out a Shark player in open ice either this last game or game 2, can't recall. I don't know what Ericsson was doing on that play, I can only throw my hands up in disgust so many times. I really like Helm, and I think in another couple seasons Howard will be ready for big time, but not yet.
― he takes the account of everything in the universe into consideration (dan m), Thursday, 6 May 2010 00:51 (sixteen years ago)
One thing I grinned at last night (before the Wings went to shit) was Lidstrom using the back boards to bounce a puck on net. Dude's old and crafty.
