Oops, I mean Sunday, May 23rd. I can't read.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 April 2010 19:36 (sixteen years ago)
Why are they putting the finale on a Sunday?
― Nhex, Monday, 19 April 2010 19:37 (sixteen years ago)
I can't believe this show will be gone after May. :(

I know. Now I'm kinda sad.
(Sunday night events typically account for the greatest audience availability.)
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 April 2010 19:40 (sixteen years ago)
We knew the finale date months ago ;)
― she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Monday, 19 April 2010 19:40 (sixteen years ago)
Push that sadness off until after the finale! We got the rest of our lives to miss it.
― Nhex, Monday, 19 April 2010 19:41 (sixteen years ago)
xp We did? I must have missed it.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 April 2010 19:44 (sixteen years ago)
Oh man, I'm going to a wedding on the 23rd. I hope it's early.

― mdskltr (blueski), Monday, 19 April 2010 20:22 (sixteen years ago)
It's on Sunday so it can be on the 23rd. Get it-- 23=Jack.
― President Keyes, Monday, 19 April 2010 21:28 (sixteen years ago)
I wouldn't be surprised, actually.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 April 2010 21:53 (sixteen years ago)
Oh, clearly that's why it's that Sunday. That's why they're taking a week-long break in the schedule--so that it's on the 23rd, rather than the 16th. Sayid don't mean shit.
― winnebago taco, Monday, 19 April 2010 22:02 (sixteen years ago)
so what's tonight's episode all about then?
― cutty, Tuesday, 20 April 2010 13:32 (sixteen years ago)
someone getting a golden ticket

Jacob is an awful lot like Willie Wonka, what with the penchant for ambiguous moral instruction and harsh penalties for failure in a game whose rules are ill-defined after all.

There is a character named Charlie.
THINK ABOUT IT.

What are you talking about? There's an episode on the 18th.
― phantompenguin, Tuesday, 20 April 2010 17:46 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, the 18th is a Tuesday. And it's not the finale. What are you talking about? If there was no week off, the finale would be on Sunday, May 16 (one week earlier than it is now scheduled; the next-to-last episode would also be a week earlier, on May 11). Sayid's number, or whatever.
To clarify, there is no new episode, next week.
― winnebago taco, Tuesday, 20 April 2010 18:17 (sixteen years ago)
Oh, now I see. My mistake then.
― phantompenguin, Tuesday, 20 April 2010 19:13 (sixteen years ago)
Four hours left, two accounted for on the finale night. If they're going by numbers, who gets picked off and when?
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 02:17 (sixteen years ago)
there's 3 more non-finale episodes, so 5 hours left
― Spiney G. Porcupinegarden (some dude), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 02:26 (sixteen years ago)
terrible episode after 2 great ones :( claire changed her mind. jack changed his mind. sayid changed his mind.
angry claire is the least intimidating thing ever. its like a chipmunk grimacing.
― bnw, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 02:27 (sixteen years ago)
Oh, I messed up my count then.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 02:27 (sixteen years ago)
xp Widmore changed his mind.

"Guy talk"
better than last week's, and at least we got all the reunions out of the way in one go.

this episode wasn't that great, but I'm glad that it at least moved the story forward pretty efficiently
― peter in montreal, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 12:56 (sixteen years ago)
flash sideways stuff last nite was driving me up a wall. just feel like those scenes are wasting...precious...time!
― scott seward, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 13:51 (sixteen years ago)
don't get me wrong, i think the idea is gutsy. hey, what if we devote half of the last season to a mostly slow-moving alternate universe/timeline sub-plot that cuts into the action on the island! i mean if it doesn't end up being the most mindblowing finale in the history of television people are going to riot on producers houses. and cut their heads off.

― mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:16 (sixteen years ago)
the most interesting thing was Sun recognising Locke ("it's him!")...not just from 815/the airport. Desmond did well to land as well as he did in the well.
― mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:19 (sixteen years ago)
i wonder how much the flash sideways stuff was the writers just NEEDING something to break away from the main island action to every other scene, because they've structured things like that for so long, not even that they wouldn't be able to come up with more stuff happening on the island but just are used to doing things that way.
― Spiney G. Porcupinegarden (some dude), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:21 (sixteen years ago)
half the season could have been the history of the island. like a nature documentary. the aliens, the people from atlantis, the egyptians, etc. i would have killed to see something like that.
― scott seward, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:23 (sixteen years ago)
What's with Smokey & wood?
Last week it was "You talk to wood now?"
This week MIB thanks Jack for putting Locke's body in a wooden box.
Makes me think back to Eko's walking stick.
This ep. wasn't bad-- It felt like the first hour of one of a two hour season finale-- with the flash-whatever covering multiple characters and lots of movement on the Island, characters making dumb decisions (I'm going to jump off this boat/helicopter/submarine.)
― President Keyes, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:29 (sixteen years ago)
I liked Sawyer's line about the captain looking like an outcast from a burt reynolds movie
― akm, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:32 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, the fact that the flash sideways was all about connecting different characters was encouraging that that's all coming to a head -- weird thing is the episode description on my cable box said the LA stuff centered on Jack, which totally confused me when he and his son didn't show up until over halfway through the episode.
― Spiney G. Porcupinegarden (some dude), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:33 (sixteen years ago)
Guys remember how when Jack looks at Locke he doesn't see Locke but ... HIS DAD? Remember that?
― congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:34 (sixteen years ago)
has jeff fahey ever been in anything with burt reynolds?
― mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:34 (sixteen years ago)
When Jack said "You look just like him" do you think he meant HIS DAD?
― jaymc, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:37 (sixteen years ago)
probably meant
― max, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:40 (sixteen years ago)
wait for it
A HORSE
the "you look just like him" line last night was so clearly about smokey looking like locke, c'mon
― Spiney G. Porcupinegarden (some dude), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:54 (sixteen years ago)
you sure are going to look dumb when in the show finale they reveal retroactively that each person sees the smoke monster as someone different who was important from their life
― congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 15:04 (sixteen years ago)
when they say he looks like locke the sound of their voice is being translated by smokey's babelfish
― abanana, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 15:08 (sixteen years ago)
haha they'll do a total shutter island reveal with a bunch of old scenes playing back differently
