What are you talking about? There's an episode on the 18th.

Yeah, the 18th is a Tuesday. And it's not the finale. What are you talking about? If there was no week off, the finale would be on Sunday, May 16 (one week earlier than it is now scheduled; the next-to-last episode would also be a week earlier, on May 11). Sayid's number, or whatever.

this episode wasn't that great, but I'm glad that it at least moved the story forward pretty efficiently

flash sideways stuff last nite was driving me up a wall. just feel like those scenes are wasting...precious...time!

don't get me wrong, i think the idea is gutsy. hey, what if we devote half of the last season to a mostly slow-moving alternate universe/timeline sub-plot that cuts into the action on the island! i mean if it doesn't end up being the most mindblowing finale in the history of television people are going to riot on producers houses. and cut their heads off.

the most interesting thing was Sun recognising Locke ("it's him!")...not just from 815/the airport. Desmond did well to land as well as he did in the well.

i wonder how much the flash sideways stuff was the writers just NEEDING something to break away from the main island action to every other scene, because they've structured things like that for so long, not even that they wouldn't be able to come up with more stuff happening on the island but just are used to doing things that way.

half the season could have been the history of the island. like a nature documentary. the aliens, the people from atlantis, the egyptians, etc. i would have killed to see something like that.

What's with Smokey & wood?

This week MIB thanks Jack for putting Locke's body in a wooden box.

Makes me think back to Eko's walking stick.

This ep. wasn't bad-- It felt like the first hour of one of a two hour season finale-- with the flash-whatever covering multiple characters and lots of movement on the Island, characters making dumb decisions (I'm going to jump off this boat/helicopter/submarine.)

I liked Sawyer's line about the captain looking like an outcast from a burt reynolds movie

yeah, the fact that the flash sideways was all about connecting different characters was encouraging that that's all coming to a head -- weird thing is the episode description on my cable box said the LA stuff centered on Jack, which totally confused me when he and his son didn't show up until over halfway through the episode.

Guys remember how when Jack looks at Locke he doesn't see Locke but ... HIS DAD? Remember that?

the "you look just like him" line last night was so clearly about smokey looking like locke, c'mon

you sure are going to look dumb when in the show finale they reveal retroactively that each person sees the smoke monster as someone different who was important from their life

when they say he looks like locke the sound of their voice is being translated by smokey's babelfish

haha they'll do a total shutter island reveal with a bunch of old scenes playing back differently
