He seemed pretty normal when he was chillin' with Peg Bundy.

no turkey unless it's a club sandwich (polyphonic), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:38 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that's true. wasn't there some scene in the staff room where he was sort of tempting ben into thinking he should be head etc? it seemed deliberately meant to be flocke-like...

but i agree he was pretty normal hanging out with his one true love.

having said all this, isn't it now sort of clear that the alt is after the on island stuff? i mean...if these are "memories" that everyone is having.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:40 (sixteen years ago)

desmond is the one wearing all black in the alt, btw

GREAT JOB Mushroom head (gbx), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:41 (sixteen years ago)

isn't it now sort of clear that the alt is after the on island stuff

i wouldn't say that, no

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:43 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah I don't think that's clear either.

Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:44 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i think its more a bleeding through the boundries thing than memories per se

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:47 (sixteen years ago)

well...i didn't think that before, i thought bleeding through the boundaries, but surely if you know someone already or have memories...then it happened in the past? i mean...or else how do they explain that? not saying there isn't a way but would require a lot of complexity.

also the way desmond talks about it, like "you had another life" type shit, rather than "this isn't real."

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:48 (sixteen years ago)

i'm not that staunchly sure of this btw.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:48 (sixteen years ago)

I think it's a parallel universe thing. I don't think they are going to try to explain it very well.

Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:52 (sixteen years ago)

yeah prob true...prob why this love thing is making people remember. actually it's prob "that's his/her constant" as an explanation for everything.

i assume libby saying she felt this big emotional rush watching the tv and seeing hurley is similar to faraday crying watching the oceanic broadcast that time?

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 19:58 (sixteen years ago)

seriously that explanation for the whispers was so fucking bad

i'd always hoped that the whispers were caused by time/universe bleeding stuff - like the whispers are you hearing ppl walking in the same place in the jungle in a different time or universe and they are all overlapped somehow

also the ghosts in purgatory thing is straight bullshit. in series 2 the whispers always occur before ppl are taken by the others (that air hostess for instance)

po-mo da don (tpp), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:11 (sixteen years ago)

b/c the ghosts are tryin to warn u

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:12 (sixteen years ago)

i guess the problem with a lot of the 'unanswered questions' is that the fans have probably got better explanations for most of it than the writers (probably because they care more)

i'm still confident we won't get a BSG-style ending where ANY fan could have written a better ending

po-mo da don (tpp), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:14 (sixteen years ago)

"also the ghosts in purgatory thing is straight bullshit."
i get the feeling it will be revealed in the show to be bullshit when Michael's advice turns rotten for Hugo.

Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:17 (sixteen years ago)

yeah but makes no sense. the whispers happened when walt appeared and he wasn't even dead!

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:20 (sixteen years ago)

because the ghosts are tryin to warn u

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:23 (sixteen years ago)

ah that makes sense, thanks.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:25 (sixteen years ago)

Mysterious Boy is clearly Spock and the island is the Genesis planet.

abanana, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:33 (sixteen years ago)

ah that makes sense, thanks.

yeah either that or "o lol ghosts do u see" is some sorry-ass bullshit. one or the other.

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 20:42 (sixteen years ago)

i like the way someone actually said "that's not important right now" in this ep, forget who

I see what this is (Local Garda), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:15 (sixteen years ago)

It was "Michael" -- something about "Michael" makes me think it's an impostor, probably his never once mentioning "WAAAALT"

Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:18 (sixteen years ago)

"Hurley, who are you talking to?" FUCK OFF

"That's not important right now" FUCK OFF

"What's over?" "Everything" FUCK OFF

every other question asked in this episode FUCK OFF

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:35 (sixteen years ago)

Michael: if you ever do see Libby tell her....I'm very sorry
Hurley: i'll be sure to do that. oh...what about Ana Lucia?
Michael: nah she was annoying remember?

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:39 (sixteen years ago)

groaned out loud when Ilana said she was going to the Black Rock. hope Richard really just couldn't be bothered despite being unkillable and DESPITE there being weapons at the barracks still and DESPITE them having guns so why not just shoots the plane tyres.

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:45 (sixteen years ago)

SHUT UP

bug holocaust (sleeve), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:50 (sixteen years ago)

seriously anyone who is still complaining about this show should gtfo of this thread.

bug holocaust (sleeve), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:50 (sixteen years ago)

don't be ridiculous

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:52 (sixteen years ago)

someone who isn't me can pan through all the LOST threads and collect a list of every nutball baseless "theory" that didn't end up coming true

I remember supporting a theory back in SSN 3 or 4 about how Walt was going to be the true Chosen One/Island leader.

And there was this awesome blog with the "Island is a moon" theory. http://mirrormattermoon.blogspot.com/

President Keyes, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

the kid's hair is different but his clothes are the same. this is just an observation and not a complaint btw.

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 22:37 (sixteen years ago)

different stylist on set

President Keyes, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 22:39 (sixteen years ago)

The clothes and the kid are washed 2nd time round. Could be the hair color was dirt.

point taken, but man that stuff gets old.

bug holocaust (sleeve), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:00 (sixteen years ago)

i'll try harder to keep it all in one post from now on tho. disliked this episode as much as i liked last week's (other way round for some i'm sure).

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:01 (sixteen years ago)

keep watching lost although it's crap

conrad, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:08 (sixteen years ago)

ok thanks i will!

a theory back in SSN 3 or 4 about how Walt was going to be the true Chosen One/Island leader.

i still kinda think this tbh

est 2010 (rahni), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:09 (sixteen years ago)

I wouldn't bother complaining about little stuff if I didn't love the show as a whole so much.

millions now zinging will never lol (WmC), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:40 (sixteen years ago)

"What will be do when it's all over? ;_;"

ABC's been pushing a lot of serials, but I can't see ever starting up on those when there's Mad Men and Breaking Bad to catch up on.

Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:44 (sixteen years ago)

god, if only there were a large amount of flammable material on hand near or inside the plane! would make blowing it up 10x easier.

Big Fate (as Alvin 'Xzibit' Joiner) (history mayne), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

i h8 h8 h8 all the "we need all six in order to leave"/"kate is not a candidate but i need her here" stuff

Big Fate (as Alvin 'Xzibit' Joiner) (history mayne), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

yeah the sheer number of mystery/sci-fi shows ABC is throwing at the wall right now (usually with at least one Lost cast member involved) is insane, and so far none of them seem remotely promising as long term prospects. i guess there'll be more possibilities in the fall, though.

sipster cuppies (some dude), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

sorry blueski it was indeed the multiple posts that got me xp

bug holocaust (sleeve), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 23:55 (sixteen years ago)

Ilana blowing up was awesome, I totally laughed in amazement. Also just what this season needed. In fact why not blow up all their island locations so they can stop going back and forth between them.

Ben on pedo-watch and Desmond going for Locke was also A+++. However. I would like to complain that when Flocke went back after throwing Desmond down the paper mache well, he did not respond to Sayid's question about "How is Desmond" with the reply "Well", "Not very... well" or "Well.... he's OK".

Why tf is anyone still banging on about the alt being after the on-island stuff. The writers have subtly explained what's going on by having Hugo say to Libby HEY IT'S LIKE AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, CRAZY HUH?

Whispering explanation was lame-o. And I'm one of the people who is hanging on for explanations. I think they put that one in as a warning that they clearly can't be arsed.

For some reason I'm convinced that lil mystery kid is Smokey's real form as a kid. And maybe we haven't seen his true human form yet (MIB possibly being another Locke-type-body-snatch).

Ilana was my all-time #1 Lost boo, i will miss her

nu bay deejoning (some dude), Thursday, 15 April 2010 00:06 (sixteen years ago)

i have NO idea what kind of satisfying explanation people were expecting about the whispering, but then i never really thought that was remotely one of the more intriguing things in the show

nu bay deejoning (some dude), Thursday, 15 April 2010 00:07 (sixteen years ago)

I forgot it was even a question.

no turkey unless it's a club sandwich (polyphonic), Thursday, 15 April 2010 00:13 (sixteen years ago)

Oh btw was anyone else half-expecting Hurley to stab Flocke when he gave him the knife?

Not the real Village People, Thursday, 15 April 2010 00:17 (sixteen years ago)

i don't consider the whispers reveal to be an explanation. it just raises a new, different question, which is what they've always done on lost.

phantompenguin, Thursday, 15 April 2010 00:33 (sixteen years ago)

like, why can hurley talk to ghosts?
