I don't know if Sun would call getting shot in her pregnant belly after her father tried to have her secret boyfriend killed "positive."

President Keyes, Monday, 12 April 2010 21:54 (sixteen years ago)

I forget, why is bad dad cool with Jin marrying her in the orig. timeline, but not in the alt?

Philip Nunez, Monday, 12 April 2010 22:01 (sixteen years ago)

claire such a fucken awful actor

conrad, Monday, 12 April 2010 22:04 (sixteen years ago)

About Kate - but remember her "stepdad" turned out to be real dad after all, and thus her relationship with her mother is probably not as horrible, overall it's still better than the regular timeline. What is Kate's ideal world, though? Does she really want to have a life of thrilling adventure and constant escape?

As for Jin - we don't know how they met in the alt, but apparently Jin worked as Sun's bodyguard and then hooked up, as opposed to their random meet in the regular timeline. Also in the alt, Sun's father figured out that Sun secretly saved money and was planning to run away with him (even though Jin didn't know this), which surely was a factor as well.

who'd be better as claire? naomi watts?

Philip Nunez, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 00:46 (sixteen years ago)

i don't get that kind of criticism, as if this show would be the same or better without "MOY BAYBEEEEEE!" it's part of the inherent sell

Nhex, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 00:50 (sixteen years ago)

I think sun's dad should have been played by ian mcshane, but i have no beef with claire.

just realized: Jacob summoning the storm on the Black Rock to make it hit the island is exactly what Prospero does at the beginning of The Tempest.

abanana, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:01 (sixteen years ago)

^^i thought this too!

phantompenguin, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:02 (sixteen years ago)

iirc "it's the island from The Tempest" has been bandied about at some point or another

bug holocaust (sleeve), Tuesday, 13 April 2010 22:26 (sixteen years ago)

did you guys see the willy wonka themed ad for next week's episode? they've really been on fire with those lately.

liked michael showing hurley the ocean view of the other island, reminded me of christian showing jack the water in the very first season.

phantompenguin, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 02:06 (sixteen years ago)

That "Next Week on Lost" thing was buck-ass wild, for sure.

winnebago taco, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 02:11 (sixteen years ago)

Jorge Garcia is just about the worst actor in a major tv series ever. Good thing his character is lovable and cuddly.

xpost srsly!

millions now zinging will never lol (WmC), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 02:12 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that thing was hilarious. at this rate the ad for the finale is gonna be the Rocky Horror soundtrack or something.

first scene w/ Hurley at the grave got me kinda choked up tbh.

sipster cuppies (some dude), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 02:18 (sixteen years ago)

LIBBY!!! I have waited years!
Jack is now going to operate on alt-Locke aye?
Fun parallel of Desmond and Locke hurting each other.
Does Desmond turn the wheel or does Vincent save him, Lassie style?

Also, I think Hurley found Adam & Eve's stones at the campsite..

Best part of the whole episode.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 02:58 (sixteen years ago)

desmond to hurley: go with your gut

conrad, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 04:56 (sixteen years ago)

yeah awesome WTF ending haha

i wish there was more Libby backstory from the real universe, but still I was definitely happy to see her get an episode, even in the sideways universe

Nhex, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 04:58 (sixteen years ago)

oh cool they "explained" the whispers

Maybe they will kiss and flashback to their secret perfect love.

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 06:28 (sixteen years ago)

lol @ this show for establishing that richard and jack don't get blown up by dynamite due to ~fate~, then sending ilana to get it because idk they were tired or something.

Poor hot dead Ilana. :(

no turkey unless it's a club sandwich (polyphonic), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 08:02 (sixteen years ago)

good ep altho the whole true love angle is retarded. also people who die on the island end up in......... purgatory!

abanana, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 09:31 (sixteen years ago)

So probably wheelchair Locke's near death exp. provoked either Island memories or allowed Smokey to slip into him.

When Jack's about to operate on him he'll start shouting "Why do you find it so hard to believe!"

Uh, so let's see--Sawyer & Miles will arrest Desmond, maybe after interviewing Hugo. Des will help awaken Sawyer's luv-memories of Juliet. And then, uh, more stuff happens.

President Keyes, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 09:39 (sixteen years ago)

The whisper explanation was kind of funny. Almost like a bone tossed to all the "I want answers!" people. Hurley should walk around saying stuff like, "So that's why the Others were doing all that fertility stuff," or "So that's why those Dharma drops are still happening."

President Keyes, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 09:43 (sixteen years ago)

des smugly driving away from hugo & libby was out of some cheesy 80s anthology show

President Keyes, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 10:06 (sixteen years ago)

Why does Des have to go through this whole circuitous approach to get people to remember their alt-selves? I know people probably wouldn't believe him if he directly told them what was happening, but it feels more plausible than hanging around Mr. Cluck's in the hopes that Hurley needs your advice about a woman who thinks she knows him from somewhere.

HOOS zing-steen (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 13:13 (sixteen years ago)

there were at least two shade-tippin' scenes by Desmond last night

ilana blowing herself up made me LOL out of surprise

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 13:28 (sixteen years ago)

speaking of LOLing, I turned on the TV a few minutes early last night and so saw the very end of Dancing With the Stars, and the couple who were kicked off were slow-dancing for their "farewell dance" and then all of a sudden the music picked up and turned into a really bad Broadway-style version of "We're Not Gonna Take It" and the guy started doing a very awkward faster dance with lots of arm flailing and boogying and for some reason this struck me as hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. I was trying to stop because LOST was starting and I didn't want to miss anything but every time I thought of the stupid song and the dude's terrible impromptu dance I started laughing again, until I was crying.

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 13:31 (sixteen years ago)

I saw that, too, and thought it was weird, but mostly because "Broadway-style version of 'We're Not Gonna Take It'" also sums up Jimmy Fallon's Glee parody (ft. the cast of Parks and Recreation) from a couple months ago.

HOOS zing-steen (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 13:45 (sixteen years ago)

how did they expect him to dance to we're not gonna take it, though? he had to get extreme.

how could you not love secret agent Desmond

Nhex, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 14:15 (sixteen years ago)

desmond has been kidnapped, blasted with electromagnetism, submerged underwater in a car, pushed into a well in the past two episodes

full government name (cutty), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 14:23 (sixteen years ago)

Has Jack met fake Locke before? Because at the end I got the feeling from that look on his face that he was seeing his dad.

wmlynch, Wednesday, 14 April 2010 14:27 (sixteen years ago)

huh

full government name (cutty), Wednesday, 14 April 2010 14:41 (sixteen years ago)

fake locke has had a habit of asking people who meet him who he is, and getting told either "locke" or "you look like locke but...", so you could be on to something.
