Daniel, Esq., Monday, 12 April 2010 00:30 (sixteen years ago)

j0rd,
i'm just saying the videos aren't in either of the two places one would expect them to be. that's a hueg fuckup imo

alship, there have been a few performances that were on hulu. i saw the ting tings and pearl jam and vampire weekend on hulu--two of which are on indie labels

the smh westerns (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 April 2010 00:30 (sixteen years ago)

first new platinum artist you mean?

fucka washa hat (some dude), Monday, 12 April 2010 00:31 (sixteen years ago)

oh good to know about pearl jam, i was bummed i missed their performances when i watched that ep ondemand

fucka washa hat (some dude), Monday, 12 April 2010 00:31 (sixteen years ago)

though i don't know how they got on there. i'm just guessing someone has to pay for the rebroadcast rights? Or maybe the bands sacrifice rebroadcast rights? this would be a good Vulture article

the smh westerns (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 April 2010 00:32 (sixteen years ago)

i think it's more like the website or cable service or w/e has to pay additional royalties to the song publisher.

fucka washa hat (some dude), Monday, 12 April 2010 00:34 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, so maybe the indie bands are waiving that right?

yeah the ke$ha song sucks but that performance was pretty fun and ridiculous

congratulations (n/a), Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:14 (sixteen years ago)

Was that a real light synth or just a gimmick? Ke$ha's fun though, so whatever.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:15 (sixteen years ago)

EW. Sorry, I have higher standards for 'ridiculous.'

cupcake 24/7 (Tape Store), Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:16 (sixteen years ago)

$nl ke$ha controver$y!

congratulations (n/a), Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:26 (sixteen years ago)

Real disconnect between Ke$ha's second performance and the song she was performing. Like, if it had been Fever Ray or something, it would've been great.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:47 (sixteen years ago)

i missed this. what did she play? "TiK ToK" and "Your Love Is My Drug"?

ksh, Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:50 (sixteen years ago)

Yep.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:52 (sixteen years ago)

rent, Sunday, 18 April 2010 04:57 (sixteen years ago)

I still haven't watched that ICP video everyone thinks is hilarious, but it can't be better than the parody.

haaa are children small or just far away?

Best line!

those ke$ha performance are the best kind of worthless crap there is, people should be bitching when Dave Matthews performs not when this shit happens.

da croupier, Sunday, 18 April 2010 06:07 (sixteen years ago)

sry, i'm a pop fan and i prefer things like well-choreographed dances and hot performers/outfits and emotion, as opposed to "Hey ma! look at me! i'm being weird! i'm, like, such a weird pop star! so eccentric! i am wearing a silver body suit and doing the robot! i'm innovative!"

please stop talking yr fucking 'blah blah blah'

cupcake 24/7 (Tape Store), Sunday, 18 April 2010 06:25 (sixteen years ago)

in any case, it's fitting that ke$ha was on SNL because "TikTok" is basically a shitty recurring SNL character doing karaoke over "Love At First Sight"

cupcake 24/7 (Tape Store), Sunday, 18 April 2010 06:26 (sixteen years ago)

Ke$ha knows full well that she's extremely hateable, so she rolls with it until you come around to her side. That's how it happened to me at least.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 18 April 2010 06:29 (sixteen years ago)

she's a lot like je$u$ in that way

not a fan of ke$ha, but da croup 100%++++ OTM on this. if you didn't crack up when MAYBE WE ARE THE ALIENS came up with the hand light show thing you got the wrong take on this

i want more acts to try such stupid attention-grabbing gimmicks in a live performance, she put in more effort and professionalism than 90% of SNL musical guests lol

this is a pretty retarded statement -- also i haven't seen this performance yet but i generally agree with tape store that i prefer the actual professionalism and... ideas in gaga's performances. on the other hand if you're ke$ha and you can write good pop songs but you know you aren't much of a performer, being a total jackass on stage is more preferable to trying to do an earnest performance a la cassie infamous 106 & park performance of "me & u"

the way you guys make the two performances from last night sound, i'm imagining ke$ha as one of those people who comes on and dances towards the end of a "what up with that" sketch

an actual jerk (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 18 April 2010 17:58 (sixteen years ago)

^ 100% of SNL musical performances could be improved by having Jason Sudeikis reprise his "What Up With That" role with the acts.

I DIED, Sunday, 18 April 2010 18:05 (sixteen years ago)

100% of SNL could improved by having J-Sud dancing throughout. His boogie as Todd Palin during in Amy Poehler's rap is insane.
