If things continue this way, 3 episodes from now they'll have Brad Pitt or someone on the show.
― Evan, Friday, 7 May 2010 13:16 (sixteen years ago)
Sadly, things won't continue in *any* way - that Rudd clip is from the series finale from last Sunday. The show's done for good!* (That said, the "Father and Son" short film from HBO has me very excited at what these guys could do with something not as ridiculously paced - it's their best work, I think).
(* The Steve Brule spin-off show starts very soon, though)...
― Becky Facelift, Friday, 7 May 2010 13:26 (sixteen years ago)
Oh really they're done for good huh? I'm OK with that, I know Tim and Eric aren't finished doing projects so I'll be looking forward to what they do next (besides the Brule show).

kinda happy it's over - this season was easily the worst. no new ideas. i thought that father + son thing was pretty weak also. for me the hectic pace and psychedelic visuals are key to their style.
― rat fapper (another al3x), Friday, 7 May 2010 14:50 (sixteen years ago)

― am0n, Friday, 7 May 2010 14:52 (sixteen years ago)
I like the wrongness and secret evil of the show, but I dislike the bathroom humour.
I really like the actors other than Tim and Eric such as David Leibe Hart and friends. They are such biscuits of worth.
― Latham Green, Friday, 7 May 2010 15:27 (sixteen years ago)
it's a british. i can tell from the 'humour' and 'biscuits,' and from reading posts by quite a few britishes in my day.

the way rudd sells it, the casual coffee-sipping / concentration, like he's a pro working on a tough but intriguing problem = pretty fantastic comedy performance

Sadly, things won't continue in *any* way - that Rudd clip is from the series finale from last Sunday. The show's done for good!
I was poking round on YT (its hard to find clips of their shit not on AS!) and there was a promo for some thing they did with Zack called "Just 3 boyz" and it was insanely strange - wtf is it, a new show theyre doing or some one off thing?

i know the last 1 aired on 'funny or die' on hbo -- yah it was v. funny & i have a low tim & eric threshold
― johnny crunch, Saturday, 15 May 2010 03:55 (sixteen years ago)
this show is over for good? :( I find it insanely funny. this season wasnt as funny, though. I do not like the bathroom humor AT ALL. i love their regulars - james quall, richard dunn, etc. i will miss them :(
― homosexual II, Saturday, 15 May 2010 08:33 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, "Just 3 Boyz" and "Father & Son" were from HBO's "Funny or Die Presents," which was made up of sketches from lots of "big name" alternative comedy scenesters. It was amazing how traditional and - for lack of a less obnoxious term - safe the other material was next to the Tim and Eric stuff.
The "Check it Out with Steve Brule" promos have been cracking me up: http://vimeo.com/user2972231/videos/sort:dateThat show starts tomorrow on Adult Swim.
I agree that the gross out/bathroom side of what they do is not nearly as funny or interesting as the stuff where they obsess over the basic horrors of technology (i.e. Tayne, the Tairy Greene Machine, the Cinco Phone (which is possibly my favorite sketch from Awesome Show), etc.).
― Becky Facelift, Saturday, 15 May 2010 10:12 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah I love T&E but when the spewing and "bloody balls" and stuff comes up I have to hide my eyes. Hate spew.
But the show overall is so fucked up and crazy awesome. Hanging out for S4 coming out on DVD (I think I said that upthread somewhere)
― Eyjafjallalalalalatrolololol (Trayce), Saturday, 15 May 2010 10:41 (sixteen years ago)
The Cinco stuff with Jeff Goldblum was A+++.
There's another Funny Or Die sketch on its way (Morning Prayer With Skott and Behr), which has already leaked, if you know where to look (my$p133n).

For the record, it turns out "Check it Out with Dr. Steve Brule" is really, really funny.
Tim Heidecker gave an interview where he said they wanted the show to feel like Brule "made it himself after sneaking into a studio somewhere," and they nail it. I was seriously laughing nonstop. I think it's up on the Adult Swim website for US people.
