it doesn't happen often, but endings to fights like that makes me love boxing even more.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 10 April 2010 16:17 (sixteen years ago)

you know, he could only fight with one hand due to a shoulder injury, and knocked him out with a beauty. Audrey has more heart than anyone thought he did so well done to him.

He might well have but for me he hasn't shown it enough since turning pro. Too many poor fights against poor opponents you'd expect him (based on his early career) to sweep aside.

Sprott looked capable of taking him out again last night and as a rule he doesn't really take anyone out.

you've been shite, son, in your daft pink boots (onimo), Saturday, 10 April 2010 16:42 (sixteen years ago)

not just for you, everyone would agree with you.

i love 24/7s w/ floyd

I watched the Ordinary Harrison fight, he was fucking terrible and why he doesn't retire right now christ only knows. There are no title-holders in that division that he's got the slightest chance of getting a result over.

Some great fights tonight. Almost PPV worthy I think. Bute-Miranda and Pavlik-Martinez. HBO. Good time to be a boxing fan. Very little chance these will be dull matches.

wicked uppercut from Bute

Wilmer Flores Trosel, CICPC director, has announced that lightweight world champion Edwin Valero admitted guilt in the murder of his wife early this morning in Valencia, Venezuela. According to police, Mrs. Valero had three stab wounds on different parts of her body. The wounds were not deep and police didn’t find a knife or razor in the room. Investigators hypothesize that the crime occurred during a fight. The couple had checked into the hotel at around 11:30PM last night. At about 5:30AM, Valero went to the hotel lobby and confessed to hotel staffers, who called police. Valero was taken into custody without incident.

i mean, it really seems like his hand speed had declined badly since the seconf taylor fight

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Sunday, 18 April 2010 21:44 (sixteen years ago)

he did look really slow, slow to defend also as reflected by the blood pouring out of his face the last 4 rounds

Mayweather - Mosley: is this gonna be as one-sided as it looks?

Daily Sport Stunna Yasmin Alibhai Brown (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 1 May 2010 20:00 (sixteen years ago)

think so

johnny crunch, Saturday, 1 May 2010 20:13 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah me too, but it's free over here so I'm tempted to try and stay up for it. Still pissed off with Mayweather for fucking up the Pacquiao fight tho.

Daily Sport Stunna Yasmin Alibhai Brown (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 1 May 2010 20:14 (sixteen years ago)

all the actually-in-the-sport guys I know are actually giving Shane more than a puncher's chance. If he can get inside, he can win. Mayweather's defense is great & he's smart enough to use it to win a fight when he needs to.

I guess we didn't talk about Edwin Valero's suicide here - dude was a world-class asshole, there can't really be any doubt, but he was also an exciting fighter who brought 100% of his game into the ring when he fought; it's a pretty big loss to the sport imo

I haven't seen enough of Valero to talk about him as a boxer. That whole story was just so tragic and futile that it didn't feel like there was much to be said.

Still awake so far. Watch me nod off just as the big fight starts.

mosley looks tired

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 2 May 2010 03:58 (sixteen years ago)

lol what happened to the other two rounds in my scoring, I'm sticking to the single-round system

brad whitford's impotent rage (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 2 May 2010 03:58 (sixteen years ago)

mosley looks tired

in fairness & against how the Sky announcers are calling it, Shane's expression always looks at odds with what he's doing

he's getting beat though, only got round 2

brad whitford's impotent rage (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 2 May 2010 04:02 (sixteen years ago)

he couldve got rd 1 but yeah mayweather def won everyone after 2

shane too old to win these next three, I'm afraid

brad whitford's impotent rage (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 2 May 2010 04:10 (sixteen years ago)

mayweather looks unbeatable

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 2 May 2010 04:26 (sixteen years ago)

pacquiao could beat him & he knows it

brad whitford's impotent rage (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 2 May 2010 04:27 (sixteen years ago)

lol nodded off some time near the end there.

Mayweather surviving that 2nd round and then proceeding to run the fight was pretty brilliant. I really thought he was going down for a moment. But otm about him running scared of the Pac-man. Surely that fight's got to be made now?

Daily Sport Stunna Yasmin Alibhai Brown (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 2 May 2010 04:53 (sixteen years ago)

what a bore

jeff, Sunday, 2 May 2010 09:04 (sixteen years ago)

Will the floyd vs pacman fight happen? It doesn't seem very likely.

Dastardly & Müttley Crüe (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 2 May 2010 23:35 (sixteen years ago)

no. floyd is afraid of pacquiao and wants to wait until pacquiao's past his prime, but pacquiao is more interested in politics than boxing now. he has beaten everybody who has the guts to face him anyway.

brad whitford's impotent rage (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 2 May 2010 23:37 (sixteen years ago)

roach sez october or november~

http://sportsradiointerviews.com/2010/05/05/freddie-roach-on-the-possibility-of-a-mayweather-pacquiao-fight-%e2%80%9cit%e2%80%99s-gonna-happen%e2%80%9d/#more-20871

On whether or not a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will happen:

“Yeah, it’s gonna happen. Just talked to Bob Arum yesterday. Bob Arum’s flying to the Philippines today to make Manny the offer. We are trying to make this work the best we can, yes.”

On whether or not it will take long to negotiate:

“No I think we have ammo to get it done quickly because there’s a lot of money out there.”

On the testing requests made by Mayweather:

“We’re gonna meet in the middle. We wanted 24, they wanted 14. (Host: 19?) Yeah, 17 or 18 or something. (Host: Now will you also give blood after the fight?) 100 percent yes. That won’t be a problem.”

johnny crunch, Friday, 7 May 2010 14:14 (sixteen years ago)

Would love to see the fight happen. I'm not sure Manny gives a shit any more.

I think it's time Joe's name was retired from the thread title.
