Charlie drowns in punchbowl, Kate shags Sawyer in the stables, Locke blows up the swimming pool, Walt mind-flings birds at Juliet, Eloise shoots her own son, Ben & Richard throw stink bombs at Pierre Chang and Horace, Claire leaves her baby behind to go off with an older dude.

Was the big test partially to confirm that Desmond is immune to the SmokeFlockeSter? That he could conceivably kill him?

How is this even possible? You can't just invite a fugitive to hang out with a couple of cops, a CEO, a spinal surgeon and a dude in a wheelchair.

I'm pretty sure the ones that matter will all end up in the same place at some point soon in the alt-timeline, but probably not due to being invited to a prim charity function. I suspect Desmond might not really need that manifest.

In the original timeline it's really doubtful she would've done all that stuff with Claire... also (they really should've mentioned this) she didn't actually kill her father but some random dude accidentally. But yeah, basically she's the same person - but that's arguably true for everybody, just certain circumstances/events or specific pivotal choices changed their lives.

I just meant that her life is pretty much the same ... still wanted for murder, still on the run. Almost everyone else seems to have gotten something positive out of the world, but hers arguably is worse because her stepdad is still alive, possibly.

She's cool with Claire in the alt; in island time Claire wants to shiv her bad.

I don't know if Sun would call getting shot in her pregnant belly after her father tried to have her secret boyfriend killed "positive."

I forget, why is bad dad cool with Jin marrying her in the orig. timeline, but not in the alt?

About Kate - but remember her "stepdad" turned out to be real dad after all, and thus her relationship with her mother is probably not as horrible, overall it's still better than the regular timeline. What is Kate's ideal world, though? Does she really want to have a life of thrilling adventure and constant escape?

As for Jin - we don't know how they met in the alt, but apparently Jin worked as Sun's bodyguard and then hooked up, as opposed to their random meet in the regular timeline. Also in the alt, Sun's father figured out that Sun secretly saved money and was planning to run away with him (even though Jin didn't know this), which surely was a factor as well.
